I remember reading a thread where somebody said that set just hadn't been added to the STF vendor yet. I don't remember any other details I'm afraid.

I'm really hoping that the missing "old" borg set is just that, missing and hasn't been put back in the game yet. It would really suck if the "old" set was gone all together. I haven't run the new STF's yet and while the new rewards look pretty good, I noticed there is nothing that compares to the old trans-warp borg engines and that's the one part of the set I would really miss if they are indeed gone.

i see no reason to take stuff out of the game. i iamgine it just is not hooked up yet.

it could possible be part of the elite versions. i hope its not but you never know.

they may just be making type X, XI and XII versions to match the others as i think its only one type at the moment.

Good point, and I very much hope it's not taken out of the game.

One thing to bear in mind is that I tend to use my curent Borg set on all my tunes because of the extra speed the engines give me. It's a little bit painful going back to slower engines once you get used to warp 14, and it was certainly very painful going back to warp 7.7 when I started a new toon on Tribble.

I wonder if the devs would consider giving the new engines a little bit more speed to make them compete better appeal wise compared to the current engines?

I doubt it's been removed, it took a lot of work to do them since they were the prototypes for ship skin changes. They're probably being saved for when more of the STFs are available on tribble.

Id rather the old set get tied to the borg front missions: Asset recovery, collateral damage and state of Q.

We allready have a breen set tied to missions, so this way everyone who plays the missions can get the gear :)

    Just my 2 cents....

Yeah, I have not yet seen the Borg Set on Tribble either...
I do hope they will give different rewards for the ELITE vs Standard version...

Example: Standard will get the Borg Engine with Warp 14, ELITE should get a revamped version with Warp 16 or so...

Also the quantum slipstream drive could do with an overhaul... either make it last longer than 30 sec or set the speed higher... (WARP 30 for example)

Considering STO is going F2P and Cstore is the only way there gonna make money, that doesnt surprise me one bit.

My guess is that they want people to take and test the new Elite set, so by not giving people a choice yet (intentionally leaving the Borg set off of Tribble for now), they can gather metrics on the Elite parts.

Well given the fact that you still get the assimilated console as reward for the Undine mission on Tribble, I'd say they just didn't put the rest in on the vendors to see how the new sets work out for people. And to those who are hunting for cool looks, the Federation Elite Force engines give an awesome warp bubble effect when crusing in sector space ;) The Khellerum makes your deflector pulsate, and the Klingon Honor Guard gives new impulse trail that looks like your engines are generating a magnetic field :)

It looks like they're phasing a lot of items and things little by little on tribble. I'd assume it's get data on how things are used and who acquires them, and then they bring more stuff in to gather new data. I'd expect to see the Borg set back at some point when they're ready.

Well, if you transfer a character with the old Borg set to Tribble, it still looks and works perfectly, so the Set still exists within the code, it's just not available... yet.

Borg Sets scale with leve, making them that much more valuable.

I am just curious about the new STF, what could the new reward be? We have a full borg set, and a Borg Science officer by the end of KA, i wonder what we get in Into the Hive

It was mentioned in one of the other feedback threads that they are planning, at some point, to offer the old Borg set pieces for salvage or tech. They have not yet determined how they want to weight/value them, as the old Borg stuff is lower-level than some of the new sets. (They're all Mk X, and it didn't seem like they wanted to make newer versions. So presumably, they are likely deciding if they want to make it the same/cheaper than the existing Mk X Sets. Such as deciding if they want it from the salvage turn in pieces, or letting you buy it with the generic Mk X tokens, I would imagine)

They should just make the old Borg set level with you, as a perk for those of us who have the original. And make new versions for salvage, with similar stats and looks.
