Do the majority of the people in this game still play mission-only events ? Do you guys/gals not PVP or PVE? What is it about the game that leaves you longing for the good old days back on the older games that you fell in love with? How do you feel about playing those older games, but with one significant difference-- it takes place in a more modern setting?

If you liked to play SFC3 (Starfleet Command III) or any of the other strategy-based tactical space games, and you really enjoyed it, I've got a place for you! (not to exclude legacy.. even though it was horrid).

That's right! I'm talking about Ker'rat!

Ker'rat can fill this "void" you have been feeling about the game. It can help to bring back some of what is either no longer supported, has no active servers, or you simply can't to play correctly on higher versions of the Windows O/S that the game doesn't support?

For those who like some smack talk in chat window... we've got that too!!!! sometimes you just have to go grab some popcorn and watch it all unravel. You can also participate if you want.

Learn how to play really well by observing others' tactics and strategies. Learn to play in a virtual space-based modern game that has no limits in space fights, except what the devs impose.

You'll learn the different strengths and weaknesses of each ship, officers, and what is most effective at blowing someone out of the stars!

That chat window may say you suck after you are blown up, but don't let that get to you. Keep working on it and and if you put your mind to it, you'll have some very challenging and fulfilling games!

You can, of course, take a break and do the mission too from time to time. Actually, the Borg make it a little more interesting sometimes. :)

This means that there is definitely a community and culture within our small corner of the universe that is often neglected by everyone (including the devs *ahem* :)) Quite simply... we need more players!

Come one and all who really miss true PVP and PVE action! Ker'rat is waiting for you!

This place could become so much greater than it is, and Cryptic would have no choice but to go back and make it truly more awesome than it already is!

    Agreed :)

In fact it's the ONLY map / mission that keeps me leaving the game. :p

Maybe now Kerrat isn't great as before but I still love this place and I'm siting there a lot while waiting for PVP. I've found there almost all my best friends and I've joined the evil Razor fleet. Now It's past :( but anyway If you're looking for good: fun, smack talk, heroes ("it took 5 of you to kill me"), revenge and farmers / good loot sellers...etc - everything what's good in this dying game, Kerrat still should be your number 1 destination.

Eh... no. Sorry, not much into getting ganked constantly by FOTM builds.

I'd like to see more open-ended PvP grounds similar to Ker'rat with objectives to obtain. I'd like to see capturable starbases/planets in a given sector, which gives buffs to anyone in that sector who is a member of the controlling faction

Right now, PvP is relatively dry. I remember seeing something a while back listing a few of my above ideas as 'works in progress,' I'd like to know if that is still actually being worked on or if it was scrapped.

I wanna see a big circus tent added to Kerrat, and a group of big top clowns that guard the spawn points.....so if any klings or feds get an itch to spawn camp..the clowns hit you with 45000 cotton candy dmg to your lady BO's thighs thus weighing down the ship and causing you to lose hull integrity due to exceeding the ships weight limit.

    Thats what i want.................

The issue with PvP and PvE is the lack of benefits. Sure, there's skill points and accolades, but there's no real GAIN from doing it.

What's more, the queue overhaul didn't do that much; also, doesn't the new queuing system technically make Gregoruy Yasinov surplus to requirements?

Sure there are gains, if you don't care about any of that. I'd rather have respect from fellow players in being a damned good PvP'er rather than having all of the accolades and skill points than those that exist in the entire game. I build as a means to an end.. to PvP and that is all I care about accolades, skill points and credits.

Where? What? ... What is this place of which you speak and what are you talking about PvP for non-PvP'ers? ... That sounds... Sort of contradictory.

T-F, I think if they fixed the spawn points (especially at reboot) it would be a lot better. Really, how much fun is it when every tme it reboots its PSW/EWP/whatever else AOE under the sun is thrown out??

I wish they'd do something close to SB-24/Klingon Scout Force. One side is Klinks, and the others Fed', there are NPC's from both sides (on there respective sides and at the front) and maybe control of an "Area" gets defense turrets or sensors of something to that side. It gets really lame when an all cloaked Klingon force just waits for the Fed's to get bored and they go fight the Borg and then get double ganked with uncloaking Klingons ( I know its exciting for the Klingons, but doesn't it still get boring?) and Borg.

The basis for Kerrat is good, but I don't see why they havent done anything to "improve" it. Or with trends, maybe thats a good thing???:D

But there's better means to getting better in PvP than Ker'rat. TFBB for example.

The main issue with Ker'rat is primarily the spamming the Borg do. Having 5 or so cubes on your case while the KDF players sneak about while you're done for isn't very friendly.

Secondly, ever since the Borg recieved their massive Buff, Ker'rat (and STFS for that matter) are becoming impossible to do due to the fact the Borg NPCs output more damage than some teams are capable off. The Borg buff has been one of the worst things to happen to this game, and Ker'rat is only making it worse by the spam-a-lot Borg, especially with the shield-draining ability, which seems to have a very short recharge time, especially when the Tractor beam ability isn't on a shared cooldown.

This is one of my big problems with Kerrat. The Borg, in essence act as allies to the Klingons. Unless you are a cloaked ship, moving close to the Borg creates mega-agro. A cloaked force can just outwait a group untill the others become bored and start doing the mission/fighting Borg, then all hell comes loose. The Borg are more of a distraction in the zone than anything else.

A lot of players see Star Trek as diplomacy so they quit sooner because all this war is not Star Trek which is a joke. Star Trek was constant conflict and a lot of ships were blown up. That is just by the ship we watch on the series. On a realistic scale, how many deaths happened in the world of Star Trek at the hands of the entire Federation spanning hundreds of years?!

    WAR

As for PvP, we need an open PvP map much like the new Borg ground map. I would pay Cryptic £10 to access it. I bet 100 players out there would pay £10 for a good PvP map for life maybe 200-300.

To let those who do not visit Ker'rat understand what they are missing... if they are interested. The title of this thread is appropriate for the intended audience. I wouldn't have typed out the thread for people who already visit Ker'rat.

It's a unique zone full of drama and excitement. It can be frustrating and also quite satisfying. Get over yourselves and get out there. For honor. For glory.

    Make it so!
