where do they go? Saw the icon in my Inventory, dbl clicked and it said I've got a bunch of new officers...
But, no Blue or Purple ones at all...it does advertise that there will be at least one random Blue or better...
That is a good question, as I have made two purchases of Doff's from the C-store both of which included one blue and a few greens.
Sounds like you may have been cheated.
My only issue with the Doff system so far is I that get no notification when one of them gets killed during a mission. They either complete the mission successfully and return to duty, complete the mission and wind up in sick bay, or it seems they can be killed even during a successful mission, but I would prefer a record or notification with a bit more detail perhaps?
If they are indeed going to Stovokor, at least let me and my crew know if it was an honarable death, etc.
No it doesnt. It promises 1 Rare or better and a couple of Uncommons of better. This has nothing to do with the Duty Officer's color (quality).
You get white quality rare Doffs. Click the portrait and it will say "Uncommon" etc. Thats what the C-store promises.
^^This. There's a disconnect between quality and rarity in Doffs. We're trained to think that color makes rarity and quality the same playing MMO's as long as we have, but here you can certainly have a common blue or a rare white Doff.
I'm neither here nor there about it, I'm just overjoyed to have the system to test.
I bought five packs of Doffs, and should've gotten according to the description of the item on the C-store gotten at least 5 Doffs of rare or better quality. Didn't get a single one. Of course, that was right after the C-store went up on Tribble. I've no idea if they've fixed it and it would work right now.
As for the meaning of the colors, yes, there are purple doffs listing in the commendation store that appear to be less worthwhile than some of their blue counterparts (fewer traits). I did notice though that between a common duty officer being assigned a mission, and an uncommon green one with the same traits getting the same assignment, the success rate is usually raised about one percent higher on the green one.
honestly I think they owe us some new ones. I looked and i did not get what they said I should get. Hope this is taken care of ASAP either by renewing our points we spent on packs that did not have what they said or give us new packs.......
The C-Store duty officer packs have been updated to give out duty officers based on quality (color) rather than rarity.
Well, that's great...so I'm just s.o.l...grrr
I knew I shouldn't of wasted points on those stupid things.
Something was telling me it was a mistake even as I did it.
but, hey, it's just a test server.
Live and learn I guess, ya got me on that one...
I won't buy anymore, that's for sure.
Ever.
When I accept a Cadre either from C-Store or from DO Assignment, the names just flash on my screen and then I have to go into my Duty Roster to see what I got.
It would be nice to have either a mouse over or window pop-up from the Cadre object that shows me what I'm getting in detail.
Frankly, if we're buying DOFFs on the C-store, the number and/or average quality should go way up. The randomness makes it too easy to get hosed since you have no way of choosing what you get.
I'd prefer to see more DOFF offers via the DOFF system itself so players don't feel obligated to pay for them, but if Cryptic is going to insist on C-store versions, then players should be able to buy specific quality and/or specialties, at whatever price is deemed fair for the level of choice.
I still can't find 2 or 3 specific DOFF specialty types that would allow me to do stuff like create those new deployables. That's for both my Fed and Klingon characters. Heck, only one of them has found a biologist yet for something simple like Tribble breeding. Naturally it's the Klingon-side one, so I'm not exactly getting much use out of it.
If the captain xp gain is removed or seriously curtailed so people can't get to the cap in a week without running "real" missions, and the cxp rewards or tier breakpoints get adjusted so there's some hope of getting a tier 4 inside of 3 months of persistent multiple logins per day play, then I see the DOFF system as a valid and entertaining supplementary rewards/buff system. As it stood before the patch tonight, it was an auto-leveling tool that super-boosted captain xp while making little to no headway on cxp. If the server ever comes up again, I'll be interested to find out if the changes so far actually improve things.
Speaking of, are we really expected to be able to earn those Holodeck rewards for a tier 4 accomplishment? I've been spamming high-value medical assignments from my earliest chance, yet I'm still almost a week away from tier 2 on one at the pace I've established. The other has barely broken tier 1 even though some Klingon medical assignments are actually much more valuable in cxp per hour than any Fed ones I've yet to see.
The different color schemes annoys me! Can we just have one standard way to tell which BO's and Doff's are more rare than others instead of having two completely different systems?
If Cryptic is going to insist on C-store DOFFs and keep the in-game aquisition so rare and time consuming to get, i agree, those doffs better dang well go up. No one I know is going to pay actual $$$ just to get TRIBBLE white Doffs. Make them mostly blues and a purple or something then we'll talk.

I agree with this. It would be nice to be able to view my new DOffs without having to freeze my chat window while I scrolled through my roster looking for them.
As previously noted in a few different places, C-Store duty officer packs as of today are being given based on color quality rather than rarity.
So how about some more Test C-points? So we can test to see how its working now with this fix, there are alot of people that spent their points on the broken doff packs.
Can new officers (obtained within the last 24 hours or so) be highlighted in my roster? It's a bit difficult to find them the bigger the roster gets.
I second this. It would be nice if there was a way to look at your recent DOFF's (say if you open several packs) so you can go through and weed out the ones you have way to many of easier and also identify what is rare and what is what color out of your new DOFF's.

I agree. Actually, it would be nice if they went to a "waiting to be commissioned" page similar to bridge officers. Then we could thoroughly check them out prior to placing them on our reserve roster.

My understanding is there will likely be more coming down the pike.

Check their references?
I am confused about what the reserve roster is... can one exchange DOFF's still on reserve?

So this is in the new Tribble build now?
Thanks.
True enough. That is what it says. But and it is a big but;
If people spend points for Duties then they are going to expect a better quality than what is available in game. If not whats the point?

I was a little disappointed when I bought the pack, and then got the same Doffs in a Doff assignment a day or 2 later.
Definitely not worth the Cstore points unless you absolutely want to have more Doffs right away.

We are working on a way to make it clear which of your duty officers is new. It has proven to be a little more complicated than we'd hoped.
My understanding is there will likely be more coming down the pike.
