Can't start a KDF on Tribble?

Okay, so I saw the Dev Blog about rewards for starting a new KDF character on Tribble & getting to as high a level as you can before f2p goes live. Great, thought I, because I've been wanting to try Klingon play for awhile now (only tried once shortly after launch, never got anywhere) and this is a perfect opportunity.

So I get Tribble access, patch up, launch the game...only to find I have only one character slot and I can't create a Klingon. WTF? Am I missing something? Do I have to have a Fed character on Tribble up to a certain level before I can make a Klingon? Kinda defeats the purpose of testing KLINGONS...on top of which, in order to make one, I'd have to delete my Fed character...which worries me that the game would once again not recognize my "access" to Klingons.

Please tell me I'm missing or overlooking something. I'd love to help test KDF play--to say nothing of getting in on the rewards offered--but I seem to be getting blocked out here.

We will be bringing the Tribble server down for maintenance to apply a new update.
    ST.16.20111002a.4

    Klingon Progression
    • Klingon Progression is now unlocked when a federation player reaches level 3.
      • This will be level 25 with this actually goes live to Holodeck.
    • Klingon players will start at level 17 and progress through updated episode threading.

    here you are
you don't need to delete the fed charakter
a new slot will be unlocked if you reach the requirements for kdf

Aaaaaand now that I've spent a full hour as a Klingon and NEVER LEFT THE SURFACE OF QO'NOS...yeah, not going to bother with this any further. I'm swimming in skill points, I have a ship I've never even used--and I just got offered a new one. This is not Star Trek, this is...hell, I don't even know what this is. I spent AN HOUR running around Qo'Nos and talking to people. I AM SUPPOSED TO BE A KLINGON!!! Might I suggest the mental defectives responsible for this at Cryptic to, I dunno...watch a freakin' episode of Star Trek? Maybe one that has Klingons in it?

*sigh* Sorry about the rant. I'm just...truly annoyed. No wonder they're offering rewards for levelling a Klingon--it's so gorram AWFUL that no one can stick with it.

You do know this is a game and not a Star trek simulator. the mission you were doing are to show you where things are.
