Ok I am not gonna rant. I am simply gong to list all that I percieve wrong at this point.
1) Lack of enought dillithium to get a new ship when you rank up.
2) Overpriced items for sale by vendors.
3) Lack of dillithhium sources.
4) 8000 daily limit for conversion of ore to refined
5) Exploration dalies seem to be limited to 2 per day based on your rank ( i base this on the fact that yesterday... before I hit captain.. The K watever cluster gave me dillithium... today it doesn't)... that is 2 per day that actually give dillithium as a reward.
6) Lack of an ability to buy common doffs for EC?dillithium. I can get bridge officers this way I should be able to get Doffs this way
7) Strictly Linear story progression. I f*cking HATE the Dividian missions, why am I being forced to play them right after Researcher Rescue and before I can progress on to more Klingon Missions? Why am I being prevented from playing the Breen missions, which I love until I'm nearly at the level cap?(StarkeRealm)
8) Tour the Universe Event Broke. I don't like failing things because of a technical issue. Couldn't get into Borg space. If you are going to have the event plz make it completedable by anyone at any level.
Ther is more I am sure but these are at the top of my list/
Feel free to add yours and I will add them to the list in this post.
I'm not sure if 4) is really an issue, given how scarce dilithium is, but at a conceptual level, I agree (especially given the prices.)

and I don't mind the Devidian missons but the graphics issues I have in Zaria make one level almost impossible for me to do solo, yet I am forced to do the stupid thing.
Have they increased XP gains across the board for the Tribble server, just for testing purposes, or is this the way it's going to be when it goes live?
If this is how it's gonna be on Holodeck, then I'd say the amount of XP you are getting is much too high. I'm at RA upper half, and I haven't even finished half of the Romulan missions yet. That leaves me with the second half of the Romulans (that'll probably end me up at VA), then the Cardassians, Breen, Undine, and Borg. Kind of strange that I'm going to be at VA having only finished klingons, and Romulans.
I haven't done any patrols, or defend missions, and only a couple borg DSE's. If I had done the patrol and defend missions, I likely would have been at VA by the end of the Klingon missions.

My understanding is that it's just for testing; else, I would agree that advancement would be too fast.
...in the amounts of "as much as we can carry"...
Seriously, we are meant to be testing, not grinding out points and daily missions just so we CAN test.
At this point I'd rather get my holodeck klingon up to commander 1, lest he need to grind out dilithium when it goes live. I don't think anyone has any delusions about us keeping the test characters, so who cares if they get TRIBBLE tons of "testing materials" - LET US TEST THE SYSTEMS FFS!

Uh we are meant to be testing the Economy... That means earning and spending the currencies available to ensure that item costs are achievable.

You are correct.
The linear progression is a killer. If you want to do that fine but leave the Featured Episodes out of that progression.... although I suspect even this suggestion won't win a lot of support.

^both of these.
Though I do agree that the 8k dilithium refinement daily limit is not currently a problem as I have yet to get anywhere near 8k dilithium ore in a single day. Every mission - and I mean EVERY - needs to give dilithium now that merits and honor have been removed from the equation. And with prices at their current level they need to give LOTS of it. Yes, I undertand that they are going to be looking at the prices. However, I am not convinced that even with lowering the prices the dilitium supply is going to be plentiful enough to even modestly outfit a ship and crew. There are too many dilithium sinks and not enough dilithium source to get a decent return from even ONE of the dilithium sinks much less more than one.
Ok I am not gonna rant. I am simply gong to list all that I percieve wrong at this point.
1) Lack of enought dillithium to get a new ship when you rank up.
Well thats "kind" of fixed now....
2) Overpriced items for sale by vendors.
THIS is one of the major issues. There is no fun in playing AT ALL with that, and it is an insult to EVERYBODY whom played the last half year and collectet stuff in the hope they would finally ADD something...
3) Lack of dillithhium sources.
I think not all of them are on tribble yet
4) 8000 daily limit for conversion of ore to refined
Not sure abaout that. BEFORE the number of Emblems was limitet though the little number of Missions to get them
The idea of that conversion limit is letting us GET the Dillithium in more ways (wich I hope come) but keeping the limits that... for some reason seem to be needet and were there before.
But all of this makes next to 0 sense with the little-to-no value dillithium has.

I see ups and downs there.... but it shouldnt be THAT strickt. The FEs should be kept out of the progression and all areas (Klingon missions, Romulans ect all for themselfs unlocked by the level ect. And FEs all for themselfes, too)
8) Items bound on Pickup.... WTF???!?!?
9) Ship purchases character only.... do I even have to comment that?

1) The ability to get dilithium and ore has just been implemented. Would really need to start a new character to know this for sure.
2) The vendor pricing is a mistake from a Dev post I read lets hope the pricing makes more sense.
3) I know of three daily quests that give about 2k in dilithium. My issue is with the Exploration missions. Some times you get dilithium some times you don't. They probably need to implement these like they did B'Tran's exploration missions.
4) Time will tell not enough personal experience yet.
5) There is something wrong with the exploration missions. A more detailed explanation to how they dole out dilithium or they need to be fixed.
6) I think being able to buy DOFFs that give you no ability procs sounds like a good idea. At present I seem to have a ton a assignments I can't do because of the lack.
7) Having a guide line is great. Being able to see at a glance what can be replayed and easy warp to ability is a nice touch. Forcing people to play through them in a strait line does need to go though.

Honestly, I could get behind an everything starts once you leave the tutorial system with warnings the player could choose to disregard for some, like the Borg, Breen, and Undine, saying "you must be this tall to ride this ride."
Level Scailing for Main Story Missions. It invalidates the entire leveling scheme and can seriously gate players from ever prcoeeding in STO if they cant level up and come back to it. Especially with the linear LOCKED progression, if you get stuck your screwed.
Level scailing for main missions should only kick in if ever on Replay.

Or, if you rip out the level gating system entirely, and just gate everything by, have you made it to Lt 3 yet? In a case like that where an Lt 5 could run off to the badlands and start the Cardassian chain, level scaling would make sense... sorry, I keep harping on this idea, but it does strike me as a neat concept.

I don't know why you say that. I'm not fond of the linear progression either, though I think I may have found a way around it.
We used to earn merits with every mission, I would hope that now its been replaced by dilithium, we earn a similar amount of that for every mission instead.
I also agree that the FE's should not be a part of the normal story progression. I still dont understand why they keep insisting on changing stuff that is not broke, but wont fix they stuff that is broken?

I like this idea. You could even keep the mission arcs as needed to be played one mission at a time as now on tribble but open ALL arcs at LT3. And for goodness sake, pull the FEs out of the other story arcs.
And for goodness sake, pull the FEs out of the other story arcs.
I can get behind sticking The Vault at the back end of the Romulan arc, but that's it. The Dividan one is the only really akward one, unfortunately it's thrown in our face very early on.

And if someone doesn't like a particular FE... "tough, do them or quit progressing through the game" is the message as it stands now.
how about you leave the current order you have of the missions, but let the player choose which chapter he wishes to engage in and level band them accordingly?
If I go to cardassian space, first level band me to 30 if thats what level the cardassians are. similar to how is done with the featured episodes now on holodeck, the fact that you can play them at any level.
I think the progression though if you really look at it, isn't so different than before, the only difference being the featured episodes could be played any time. but right now on holodeck you can't skip areas, it goes from fed to klingon to romulan space etc, the only difference being that once you were at the right level you could do the missions for that area of space in any order.
so it really isn't altogether THAT much difference, STO on holodeck as it is now is still pretty linear.
that being said, i think any kind of forcing players to do story missions as an essential part to levelling up is bad. some people dont care about the story and dont want to bother with it.
I have been also thinking the mission progression is the worst part at the moment. Best thought I had so far to suggest to them would be to split them back out a bit as in the Klingon War/Kuvah'Magh as two seperate chains and the same for the Romulan/Reman Rebellion part. Then also set up each of the chains to open at the level they do now on Holodeck. That way you still have a bit more freedom in how you level and what you work and I would think it would be pretty easy for them to keep also with their goal or having an easy guide to show what to do next. Just think they should break it down into smaller story line arcs this way which would get us some of the freedom back.
