This has been something people have been asking for ages. How about attaching a random loot drop to the mirror universe event. This could be a engine that provides the glowing purple nacelles.
It could be a random drop to one team member only, so it would increase replay value. They might need to scale back the xp rewards as its a bit high at the moment, especially if your giving people another reason to try and play it.
The stats would be nothing out of the ordinary and would be levelled, so again people would have to replay at different ranks to get them again.
If they wanted they could make a full set. Or if they dont want to give a full set out via one event, they could add the deflector and shield to a couple of the story mission rewards.
