I'd like to compliment both ships.

Both are vessels that can be used on the way to endgame, from levels 31 to 51 if the player chooses to pick them up once turning Captain, keep with it during Rear Admiral ranks (its tier 4.5 power makes it tolerable to keep around) until access is gained for Retrofits at level 51 where the player can choose to retain the skin. That, and the console provided, gives excellent all-around value to those whom purchase them.

I think the way they are presented in the C-Store is flattering, something that's not the norm from what I've seen in the past. They look slick, new, and encourage the sense that we are 30 years in the future of ST:Nemesis.

I won't be buying them. I'm not invested enough in the poorly-maneuverable exploration cruisers or the KDF, but I'm going to enjoy seeing them around. I hope some NPC ships we encounter will have their guise. I'd also add that the Vor'Kang's beautiful klingon-feeling design almost makes me want to captain it as a Klingon. Just, not quite... but if I had a Klingon character, I'd want it.

They're both quite sexy, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't want them...

    But,

800 points for what is essentially just a skin/parts pack? Seems a bit overpriced considering other comparable packs cost only 160 now.

Unless you're trying to say that antimatter spread is worth the difference.

Beautiful ships. It would be nice if there was a picture of the front of the Venture, so you could see the deflector dish (it seems to have an odd configuration?).

I'm finally going to do the grind and get my KDF toon up to Captain just so I can fly this ship around. While a few of the Klingon ships say to me: yeah that's probably what that would look like down the line, this one screams Heg'lu meh Qaq jajvam!

I want a physical model of this ship.

Oh the galaxy variant is nice too.

I agree...these are skins with a console....and they want to charge the price of an entire ship? Sorry ...this sucker isnt falling for it.

Its not just a skin and a console, its a tier 4 ship with superior stats.

Unless you just NEED to have it now, I don't see why you'd buy it now though, given the updated economy coming "soon" where this should be attainable via your normal upgrade schedule, or at least for ingame currency, not to mention the C-Store price changes and the subscriber stipend.

If we knew more about the ships coming down the line and the plans for them, we could be consumers making an informed decision.

I guess that doesn't work for them?

ding ding ding, we have a winner

proof positive that pay to win is indeed coming to the cstore

I will never, under any circumstances support such a thing. not even if they were free.

What if i just want the neat new costume? , espicially since the Gal-X has no other ingame variants to use atm
What if i just want the console?

Instead we are 'asked' to buy the whole ship/skin/console pack, cause ya know tier4 is so hot property ingame

Since its of no use to a VA as a ship, i really also doubt any first time player to the game is gonna straight up drop cash onto something they will use for a day or two max

Aside from the whole c-store gouging pay to win argument, its still pretty shocking the only option is 'max price bundle pack'

you seem to be missing one crucial fact...
the currency change will make all C-Store ships, as well as normal ones purchasable with dilithilum (though paying that way for C-Store ships unlocks it for that character only, through the C-Store is all characters)

but if i'm wrong, someone correct me

I have a problem with the Venture variant on the Galaxy X (Venture X)

When using the Venture X saucer Dual Beam banks fire from the sides of the saucer instead of with the Galaxy X where they fire from the cannons on the top.

Also on all Venture saucers the phaser strips are oriented the wrong way with horizontal striping instead of vertical and it really shows with the Aegis shields on.

There is a problem with this ship in the tailor. When you try to use window option 2, the game tries to charge you again to use the Vor'Kang ship costume even after purchasing.

My VA tac is still flying the 'stock' Nova...

But I also am rather curious how these items would sell individually...
Would certainly show who buys for what reason.

ok the 160 items are nothing big. this is a ship. a captain classed. have you seen the real ships that dont give anything but a look? im talking about the dreadnough and the Excel, and a Vulcan science vessal for a whooping 2000 CP. and your gonna complain about 800 for the same look and a bloody device.

there is a differance between a bridge pact and a ship.

clearly you and the rest complaining about prices wont be around when this goes F2P, and its sad to see.

What I dont understand is: Instead of undermining the tier system, why not overhaul the tiers and sell the skins and consoles seperately? They'll sell very well on their own merits.

you do have a point. have the ship go for 400 like the Connie, and the device 400, or something like that. (i dont know how much the connie goes for. i got mine free.)

The console is supposed to work on all cruisers and carriers. It is a very good idea this console.... well, I think it is...lol. Anyway, I hope the new skins that come out for variants of ships are going to be rockin' too... the only thing I cannot stand on this Vor'Kang is the hammerhead on the front..... yup I said it... just my opinion....lol.

I really like this new ship. It is a new look and you get the console. The Venture X looks super awesome. The only complaint I have is you can't use the #6 material if you change parts on the ship to customize it. Awesome look!!

You also get an extra sci boff slot which helps:)

Lovely Skin..... but all i want is the skin and its way too expensive, hope this isnt gonig to be the cost of C Store stuff when it goes FTP.

Also Cryptic you really need to sort out how we respec if you want players buying of new toys, at least group all escorts together and cruisers with cruisers skill, i dont and wont buy this because although i fly cruisers i fly currently a Star Cruiser, even though a Galaxy is a cruiser i got to respec???????? sort it and quadruple your income!

I may still get it though as its a nice looker! (Although i dont like the Klingon one at all for some reason) im a sucker for ship customisation!

Actually those are ships and not just skins. There are a couple ship skins that are around the ~160 cp price I think.
Yep, Nimbus, Comet, Maelstrom, Nomad, Hephaestus, and Imperial. All ship skins at 160 cp. They provide more parts for existing ships.

    1) The Double Beam Banks & DHCs fire from the very edges of the saucer section, not the gun ports flanking the bridge.

    2) The Phaser lance completely obscures the forward torpedo tubes.

    3) The registry number is (again) obscured by the phaser lance, rather than being divided by it.

I don't care how loudly a customer base screams and pitches a fit... if the product isn't ready for release, it should be withheld. I'd post screen shots of the above, but for some reason I'm unable to actually take SSs as of late. :/

I personally do not like the look of the Venture. Sorry, I just think it's ugly. There's something about the way the neck connects to the saucer that turns me off, and I really don't like the deflector dish. If other's like this ship, I'm happy for them. And it's not that the artist didn't do a fine job, I just don't like that particular aesthetic. I won't be buying it cause it's just not my cuppa joe.

I think the Vor'Kang is awesome looking. I really like the "ribbed" look on the skin, the big hammer head, the red slit-like deflector, the sleek neck bridge... The ship has a fine aggressive appearance that I'd love to have. I even have a Klingon character in mind who would be a fine match to captain the Vor'Kang.

That said, I will not buy either ship.

I ascribe to the opinion held by many, that these ships offer Pay-to-Win features by being in a "Tier 4.5" class that is not otherwise available in-game. I do not wish to support that.

It's a bummer too, because I really like the Vor'Kang. I wish Cryptic would sell it as a separate skin.

Perhaps down the line if/when there is a reasonable method to acquire T4.5 features in-game, I may change my mind and get me that Vor'Kang. Until then, I vote No Sale. :o
