Team/Fleet invites cause a System Crash

Whether it's PvP, open teaming (which I disabled) or fleet invites, I've found a correlation between that and my system crashes. I've posted the problem I've had with system crashes on all of my pre-Season 4 toons which are all in the same fleets. Anyone got a reason for this?

    My ticket reads as follows:

Team/Fleet invites cause system crashes. Made a new character who received a fleet invite, and now I am unable to access the character due to a persistent system crash. This has happened in "open teaming" (which I have set to "closed,") as well as PvP arenas. All of my pre-Season 4 Characters are all in the same fleets, and I have been unable to access them since Season 4. Teaming, Fleet and Team invites all cause the system crash.

Ticket response said try a "force verify" because some files might be corrupt. Tried that. Game crashed when I tried to log into the character who got the random fleet invite.

In the past, fleet invites NEVER caused any problems. Why since Season 4 are they doing this to my game? If some Dev or Cryptic staff can gimmie some sort of response as to why, I might just resub.

Was able to quickly "decline" the (damn) random fleet invites right before the system crash with both my post Season 4 toons. When I logged into them, the game played fine - NO SYSTEM CRASH.

    So what's the deal?

Why would fleet/team invites cause a system crash?

I think I may have something for you. I have documented and raised support tickets for all my issues for the game. All since returning ignored as now Cryptic lives up to it's name and doesn't acknowledge tickets anymore (unless they goto a GM which takes several months).

The way I see it STO is largely more hardware dependant than any other game I know. My problems were random logging / freezing / spiking because of my Nvidia graphics / Nvidia Chipset drivers. In my case I updated the graphics drivers on the recommendation of STO stating my graphics drivers were out of date. It failed to mention I need to update my motherboard chipset too. You know incompatibility between Nvidia products which has never occurred before with any other game. :D

It could be a USB mouse you use, software, hardware related, heck it could even be the orbit of the moon in the wrong cycle and magical pixies or fairies.

Seriously though; I'ld recommend removing unnecessary hardware, software, maybe temporary disabling your AV. Try to remove everything temporarily that you don't need to run the game. Ultimately you may need to do what I did and just try a variety of different things. Also try completely installing STO and installing it again. It's a pain to do but may be worth the effort. Wish I had something more to give you but it's pretty hard to tie down technical issues in STO.
