I use Teamspeak 3 everytime I play STO. I run Windows 7 and Norton protects my computer.
I usually don't run STFs out of fleet so needing Vivox has never come up, but lately I have been running with PUGs and am I requiring Vivox. I have tried multiple times and ways to get it to work and exiting and reentering STO each time.
1.) Running in Windows 98/ME Compatibity mode.
2.) I have tried in fleet and on team.
3.) When on a team I can see everyone else light up when they are speaking but can't hear a thing. When I try I don't light up at all and no can hear me.
4.) Checked to make sure "N" is still button to push.
5.) I have tried to test the mic (in STO Test) and I get nothing.
6.) I have check my settings and volumes to be the same as a friend who I know uses Vivox with no problem.
I'm lost and don't know what to do, please help me I really would like to start using Vivox.

This is how i got mine to work.
- unpluged my speakers from the back of my pc
- plugged in my headset.
- rebooted my pc with headset plugged in
- launched STO and it works.
Issues i still face
- people sometimes have issues hearing me.
- can't hear others talk, but they can hear me and each other (this is random and not all the time)
Ventrilo works perfectly for me. there is no quietness issues, or needing to reboot PC or anything like that. It just works.
My conclusion is Vivox is buggy and useless and i think it needs some patching done.
Hopefully some other people can post their problems and work arounds so we can get a good list of troubleshooting steps
