Game stopped working

I was in the middle of farming in the Delta Volanis when I was promoted that I recieved 300,000 EC when the game server stopped responding and timed out. I cleared my computer off before restarting the computer. When the computer came back on, I started the launcher and it got as far as the black Cryptic screen and it just sits there until it times out and crashes. I need help finding out what is wrong and how to fix it.

    I am trying a fresh re-installation of the game.. Perhaps a file was corrupted when it crashed? I will keep the forum informed on everything I try here.

    Ok, this is pretty bad that I have to try and solve this and yet to see the people I pay a subscription fee to do any work. Re-installation failed.. The same error pops up after the game sits on the black Cryptic screen.. "

    "Fatal Error: Unable to initialize on-demand patching and connect to Patch Server: The connection as idle for too long"

    If this issue is not resolved soon, I am leaving this MMO once again, but this time permanently.

    turn off on demand patching. you can select it from the launcher, it's under options.

    That did not work, I got the same error message..

    If I can't get this game up and running by the end of the week, I am just going back to some of my other MMOs; this has been my worst experience with any MMO by far. If I leave, my guild leaves with me.

    I am getting the same error on 1 of my pcs, but not the other. It was working this morning however this afternoons it stopped working.

    Currently, people are noticing issues with firewalls and modems blocking data. Post a tracert test and a nettest results. You might be loosing something along the way.

    on demand patching off, then on. Even turned on and tested the quick launch feature, no network blocking, no problems there, re patched the entire game and it still did not work.

    Fire wall? post tracert test? post nettest? Let someone see what you have going on. Modem internall firewall? Some of the more common issues people are reporting over multiple threads.

    How do I run these tests? I never had any issues with the gae before this crash, so I really do not think it is a firewall thing. I was in the middle of farming when the server just stopped responding and crashed.. Afterward it just would not start back up. I am willing to run these tests if I can figure out how to do it.

    Patching now, lets hope that works.. I have my doubts, but lets put my preconceptions aside for the moment,

    The patch seemed to have fixed my issue.. Thanks for the help guys, and no thanks for support for never even posting..

    I hope the skirt bug gets fixed, I used to be able to select pants for my off-duty uniform, but can't now for some reason, it only has skirts.. That sucks..

    i had to take out McAfee as it seamed to have treated the last patch as spywere and blocked it.

    I am getting the same error. I have been playing for a month now and all of the sudden with no changes to my PC I start getting this error. I have uninstalled and reinstalled...did all the patches and still no luck.. Figures ! Right after my free month runs out and I pay real money to play it stops working. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

    Cryptic support doesn't post in these Forums, ever. This is a player to player help frorum.

    If you want GM/Tech Support assistance, you need to open a GM ticket. And it's not because they don't want to post here per se; but with their ticket system, everything posted there is logged and tracked, so if there's ever a dispute over what was said by either party; they have a full and complete record of all correspondence.

    I actually filed a ticket and still have not heard a thing...not even an automated reply email. Not sure if they send those.. this is my first time dealing with support. I am really missing the game. I would like to get this fixed ASAP.. :confused:

    if a ticket is sent as a bug report , they are never respond to.
    they try to respond to tech support tickets within 24 hour normally but could take up to couple days depending on the work load and nature of the problem.
