I've installed the game, updated all my drivers and I already have the newest directx. I have no sound while playing Star Trek Online at all. I do in all my other games, but not in this. I tried playing around with the audio settings in game and that did nothing.
post a dxdiag report on your system to be sure, but I suspect you are using a 64 bit OS and a realtek sound card.
Because of a major bug(CPU bug) in the 64 bit drivers for that card the game automaticly disables the sound when it detects the driver.
you can turn off the check to get the sound back but you may be more likely to have crashes in the game.
1. update to the latest sound drivers for the card.
2. Exit the game and bring up the Launcher, click Options, and in the "Advanced command line" box, paste this:
Why has this not been patched after a year? The 64-bit system is not the problem the RealTek card is. I just bought a brand new system for this game and I have no sound. A years problem and no fix? Come on guys.
