We will be bringing down Star Trek Online on 8.11.2011 from 3:00AM to 7:00AM PDT (1000 to 1400 UTC) in order to perform general system maintenance and apply a new patch. We will provide an update once the maintenance has been completed.

Wouldn't that just be additional maintenance?

Hopefully said patch will fix the first contact missions.

They should rename it "extr33m maintenence".

From reading the release notes from Wishstone, they are patching one of the STF bosses.
Fixed some minor gameplay issues with one of the Borg STF bosses.
I hope this will be the glitch with Armek, and how he ends up not moving and just stands there until you snipe him to death.

EDIT: The other one I can think of is that glitch on KA when you can get locked out of the final battle if you don't click "Follow Donatra".
Personally I would like that one fixed first.

I hope they provide us with a concise list of bugs that have been addressed? Such as the key binds bug. Right now that bug has totally crippled me from playing at all.

And you know what happens when subscribers that pay monthly can't play due to bugs? The leave and take their money with them...

This message was brought to by the people who pay your salary.. :)

I truly hate to remind anyone of that obvious fact, Sigh, But sometimes you have to remind people who is paying the bills. Especially when customer service falls to a unacceptable level.

Not to mention switching Atari TRIBBLE to PWI wonderfulness! Yay! Take all the time you need to rid us of that burden.

LOL things don't work now. Not like more is not going to work. Hmm, well wait, there is a new patch going in and so far the track record for fixing things vs. breaking things is not in cryptic's favor. Anyway, since it's par for the course I wouldn't hold that against them or PWI (for right now).

Will it fix either the Auto Assit Big or the Hotkey Display bug?
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOUIMiJbFO8

Please say it will. The game is not enjoyable and thus unplayable for me now because of this.
Sector Space keybinds have been removed from the options menu since they have been disabled for a long time anyway.
This is part of it, thanks for fixing this! Does this mean the Kotkey Display on the toolbars will show properly now when showing all 3 bars?

    What about Auto-Attack?

Patch notes look good, unfortunately I cannot play like this with how Auto-Attack reverts back to default settings every zone, when going through options and when switching targets in battle.

Also, what the heck does QXP stand for? Please use anagrams only after following a full use of their subject. ;)

So what the chances the server will be back online after said update? some one must have felt a bit goose like last time.....

Will this update actually contain the mentioned walk changes? I ask only because the last Tribble update to say it contained changes to the walk animation didn't have any for us to test before this update.

As for the rest of the updates, yays!

I'm pretty sure the addiditional/extended maintenence is also to cut over some backend portions of the servers to whatever VPN setup PWI has in place to interface with server data.

QXP in this context refers to the event in which Q appears at Earth Space Dock / Qo'nos First City for a couple of days offering the +100% XP bonus to players. Cryptic has announced that "next weekend" (presumably the 12th-15th or so), this event will be happening once again.

Here Atari, let me hold the door open for you, SLAM, oops, did I slam the door on your hiney? :p

Thank you so very much for this detailed information! Sound interesting, this will be my first "QXP!" Hopefully Auto-Attack will be fixed by then so I can actually play and use the boost! ;)

    *salutes*

For real! Lock that door man! I am SO glad that Atari is gone from this game and happy for Cryptic that they no longer have to deal with them. I hope PWI treats you well Cryptic!

I hope future Star Trek or D&D games will never bear the label of Atari. Ever. If I was a multi-billionaire, I would buy Atari, change the name to "Horrible, Inc.," then sell it to Cryptic for an outrageously low price.

I'd do the same for EA. I'd sell EA to BioWare. ;)

The double XP can be helpful--if you are able to play all day on the weekend, you might be able to gain 20+ levels on one character. I was able to take a brand-new character up to Commander rank during the last QXP event. Cryptic tends to run this every few months both to promote the game and to give us something to do while waiting for new content. (such as how the Borg Invasion has been pushed back a month from its originally planned date due to all of the time being spent on fixing the bugs from the Season 4 launch)

Too bad, the female walk still has this ugly glitch with eyeballs sucked into the head.
Sit emotes are still not use-able.
I wonder if this Borg boss is Armek or Ogrem.
It would be great if this patch could also fix my lag at map change before warp in / beam down animation happens.

    What no new missions?

    Missions:
    • Enemy groups will now correctly spawn at level 31 on the Malon ground map.
    • Players with the Nerve Pinch trait may now use this in "Everything Old is New" to gain access to Ens. Svoboda's console.
    • Added waypoints for the Dera system patrol.
    • Added waypoints to beginning space section of mission "Saturday's Child" and clarified explanatory text.
    • Fixed some minor gameplay issues with one of the Borg STF bosses.

That awkward moment when you've finally come home from work looking forward to playing all day and STO is offline again for Maintenance. Boo for living in Australia, where our peak playing time is the sleep tome for the rest of the world...

I feel your pain. Maintenance for us usually falls from 7:00pm to 11:00pm.
By then it sleep time to go to work the next day.

And again the release of the Rhode Island Class has been delayed.

    Folks, that is RIDICULOUS!
If you are unable to stick to your ETA, don't publish it!

Why did you expect it being released today?
