I was hoping someone could help me find the cause of the numerous BSOD's i have been getting recently. The lastest batch have been 'Memory Management' but i have seen many others.
I have had an issue before where everytime I had a Windows Update, I would have to roll back the system because of constant crashes, but that was resolved with re-installing windows. It has been 5 months since that and now I get BSOD at random.
If anyone can help, please be patient with me and explain how I need to get any info you need (I'm not the best at these things)
Well, each Blue Screen crash will give you an error code, or it should. Write this down (mind you, pen and paper, because, well, obvious).
Next step: Google the error.
You'll often find that most Blue Screen reports contain known information and in the very most cases point at a hardware issue.
If you cannot find anything, feel free to share your BSOD error here so folks can have a peek.
I believe I have had some prior experience with this problem. The error codes I received pointed to either a corrupted driver, possible memory failure, or possible hardware failure.
the two most common BSOD errors atm are Kernal_Inpage_Error (points to the system page file) and nvlddmkm.sys (graphics card driver if your running an nvidia gpu and have not done a clean install when updating the drivers due to driver conflicts).
Sorry I have'nt been in and posted, unfortunatly the issue got worse and I was unable to use it for ages! It turns out that my "better half" had downloaded (in his own words) - something, from that point onwards I had BSOD's.
Needless to say, he is now no longer allowed to use my PC - I bought him a netbook he can mess up at his leisure
I still have no idea what he dl'd and had to do a fresh install of windows (also had a good excuse to buy a new harddrive - not needed but any excuse haha)
Well, that should help. ^^
Tell him to use Firefox with NoScript in the future? Let us know if the problem pops up again!
/agreed, i have this plus dr.web, better privacy and a plethera of sercurity tools with my firefox installs, best way to keep secure when browsing the web.
