FXAA hook allowed in STO?

Hey folks,

some dude over at 3dcenter.org found a way to make FXAA work in a lot of DX9/10/11 games, so I'm wondering if we may use this with STO. This is not a cheat in any way, it just allows us to use an alternative anti aliasing mode that can greatly enhance picture quality at relatively little cost.

In case you haven't been following recent events, you can check out a review of Fast Approximate Anti-Aliasing here: http://www.hardocp.com/article/2011/07/18/nvidias_new_fxaa_antialiasing_technology. Although Nvidia is mentioned, FXAA also runs on AMD / ATI cards.

agreed(know this posts a bit old but no reply was given)

FXAA would be great to smooth out some of the jaggies as i still see a few issues when using 8x mode in dx9 and 11)

would be nice if they could just add it as an option to the game, the code to empliment it is opensource and free to use so it shouldnt be a problem for them to add it to the game via a patch for dx9/10/11 modes. :)

note: it says nvidia, but works perfectly on amd/ati hardware, even older hardware that dosnt support MLAA works!!!

there is also http://mrhaandi.blogspot.com/p/injectsmaa.html SMAA some say its "much better" then fxaa or mlaa, would be nice if they could toss in some options for testers to try out .

apparently smaa is even better and has even less perf hit, but I havent tested it with STO yet....
