After the last build was released, I have been having increasing problems with the game I so love.
1. I keep getting disconnected at random intervals
2. I can type in the chat box, but when I hit enter, nothing appears (hence having to post this here)
3. Character is either invisible or beams in quite sometime after ground setting is in place
4. Loading times are talking WAY longer than normal, sometimes even stalling
5. In space, the throttle is all the way on and the ship goes nowhere. I can turn in any direction just fine, but no forward or backward travel is possible.
6. Functions will quit working. Such as trying to exit the game or responding to mission contacts. I click on the interface buttons but nothing happens.
There's a few more but I think you get the idea.
Someone help! I love this game and want to get back to it.
I've updated my video drivers and that did not help.
You aren't alone. Many of us are experiencing game-breaking lag.
This is extremely similar to what happened the second week of July, I'm having the same issues. They fixed it then, so armed with more knowledge, it might be fixed even quicker now. :-)

Wow! I could not have said it any better! All that you describe here is EXACTLY the very same problem i have experienced today. It is so bad that i gave up STO for tonight. I really expect Devs to do something soon.
Now ill go play Mass Effect 2 i guess... Long time no see my Krogan buddies
I am not sure if it helps but i have been toying with options on the STO Launcher and after having selected:
Use Proxy: EU
Only Patch Through Proxy
I could finally log in the game and play 2 full hours without being disconnected or rubberbanding.
Funny thing is that i am Canadian and live in Montreal, east coast. But so far, it let me play the game without any of the problem i was experiencing last night.
Like i said, i am not sure if it is random luck or really helping. I really cant wait for a real Dev to respond to the issue we have.
same for me this afternoon (in the UK). Was ok this monring but for the past two hours it's just gotten so bad i can't play. We're talking about 2 seconds of game time and then 237 seconds of 'disconnect form server', on repeat for the last several minutes now. It's been on and off working (mostly off) since season 4 came out, was absolutely fine prior to it.
At the minute it's just not playable and I'm going to cancel soon, i can't justify paying subscription on a game that i'm just not getting to play.
I hate to hear stuff like this. Season 4 had a lot of cool stuff but a lot of bugs so I hope it works out soon or at least they can figure out why its like this for some and not for others.
Interesting. Other than occasional chat hiccups, I haven't experienced a single one of these things. Perhaps I'm lucky, but I've been able to keep going just fine.
There isn't any point in following the instructions unless you do exactly the same to a different known working server. All the normal replies that people have been posting up tend attempt to blame the users routers, ISP, pet hamster chewing the cable, etc. Isn't it funny how so many people from all over the world all of a sudden have the same problem with their ISP, firewall, hamster, etc.. *strokes chin* or is it just he dodgy Cryptic server.
Yesterday whilst i was disconnecting all the time, i attempt to log onto this website, but that kept timing out, funny though i could log into any other website fine and even stream live TV and youtube videos all fine. Not my connection that's at fault.
Just because you can connect to other websites does not mean its not your connection. I was having a hard time connecting to Youtube a couple months ago but could watch any other streaming service. It wasnt Youtube, it was my ISPs connection to Youtube that was at fault. The internet is a complex thing, and there are many variables that can affect a connection to one place but not others.
I dont think as many people are having issues as people seem to think, and its not out of the realm of possibility that their different ISPs use the same route somewhere along the line to get to Cryptic. A route that could be timing out.
This is my running thread, I hope no one minds me linking to it as I sign this one.
I've had every one of the problems the OP had for three days, not counting tonight (I haven't made an attempt yet, I had chores to do). And I did try everything in "How to Diagnose Lag...", and had problems even connecting with nettest two days out of three. My support ticket keeps asking me to test with a wire and tell them the results, but I really do have my doubts it's that.
I'm not having any of these errors except for the chat one; I tried to reset the chat and redo my tabs but not is just says chat is offline. I never had any issues until today so I'm not sure what changed. My fleet isn't having any issues so I'll try the ISP thing and report if it works.
I changed the Proxy settings on the launcher from none to US and it fixed the problem. Wonder why this just popped up? It's been fine since Beta; oh well problem solved, thanks guys!

At this time the game for me is unplayble which is odd saying that I had no problems Sunday the 31th
I'm hoping that it maybe some kinda node/networking issues cause by the massive heat wave in the midwest / mideast.
