I played the game Friday evening of the 29th with no issues. I run a laptop (not preferred) and usually average 20-30 fps and can usually play for hours without an issue. I closed the game and laptop and went to bed. Worked Saturday day time and then got on STO (fleet mates needed a 5th for KA). Right as we started I noticed the screen didn't seem to be working to good. While trying to playing with a setting, I managed to crash the game by click windows full. Suffice to say STO wanted to take the information of the crash before I could restart. Got going again in space and checked the fps (now showing 3-6fps average) Not knowing why I checked all my in game settings to make sure something didnt change. After that I checked my computer wasn't trying to run other applications in the background or the internet connection. Nothing was running other then STO and team speak. I think crashed the laptop and unplugged its power. Waited a few seconds and then logged back in. (luckily the crash makes the game think you lost connection and didn't disconnect on your own) Got put back on the ground part with my team. Now showing 6-15 fps and it really depended on what I was doing. Literally the only thing I had done to my laptop in 24 hrs was allow it to install 3 updates to vista. Overnight I had it install the vista service pack 2 and found a sticky on the forums for setting up a laptop to run as best it can. Anyone else having issues with unexpected drops from fps???? I ran the tracert and nettest the one day. The values looked good for internet connection so not sure what it could have been from.
I believe its just the intel graphics set (yes I know it sucks but has always managed 20-30 fps up until last night). I'd like to get a gaming computer but no money right now between wedding and wedding ring.
