I just started using ts for the first time and I wanted to turn on the overlay plugin. Now apparently on the tool tip in ts say that some games may consider this a cheating tool. I was wondering does sto think it is?
I like PlayClaw/VoipOverlay as opposed to the built in overlays for TS and Vent. Less obtrusive and it won't crash you (Also doesn't kill Aero on Vista/Win7 if you use Vent).
There are PlayClaw overlay plugins to Vent and TS3 ? Or did i misunderstood your post ?
PlayClaw is a program that lets you record your game, like Fraps. It also has built in Overlay support for Vent 3.x (32bit) and Teamspeak 2, 3 (32bit). So you can use it instead of the built in overlays in Teamspeak and Vent. I prefer it over the ones that come with Teamspeak / Vent because it's very minimalistic.
VoipOverlay is made by the same people who make PlayClaw and it's just the overlay for TS and Vent, no ability to record the game like Fraps.
Here is what it looks like (http://www.flickr.com/photos/zatzai/5973112817/in/set-72157594567813598), note that I have the settings window open in that screenshot, which you would normally not see. See where it sats ZATZAi in the top left, the FPS and time. That's the overlay there, takes up very little space see...

No it's not free (I wish). PlayClaw is $30 and VoipOverlay is $15 USD. You can find them at playclaw.com and voipoverlay.com respectively, there are demos and I would recommend you try them first just to make sure it works ok on your system.
Whether you're using Teamspeak 2 or Teamspeak 3, make sure you use the 32bit version if you want PlayClaw / VoipOverlay to work with it. I can't remember if it just works for TeamSpeak or if you have to put a DLL file into the Teamspeak folder, just check the instructions (For Vent it just works, you'll of course want to have the Vent Overlay turned off so you're only running one Overlay).

Roger ^^ At work atm :O (Don't tell), so i'll look at it when i get home In 5-6 hours lol

It does not appear to be seen as cheat (Else i might not be here :O )
However, it seems to increase the chance of game crashing alot !
Scenario #1 : Have overlay on, dont touch = Game has small chance of crashing
Scenario #2 : Have overlay on, want to move people from channel to channel with overlay = 100% chance of crash when u move people.
This is my experiences with the overlay. I think it's a very nice feature, but who needs it, if you get booted from a STF and need to reboot game ?
