Apologies if this is in the wrong area-

I am looking to step away from ATI due to driver support. Is the Nvidia 560 a better card in terms of performance and driver support especially for STO? Is so what brand do you suggest? Thank you guys for your input.

PSU is a corsair 850 watts.
gigaby mobo
AMD 1090XT
16GBS of ram
W7 64bit.

since you got plenty of power just grab a single nvidia 580 and you'll be good for a long time, brands i prefer my self are msi and evega. also grab the msi afterburner and you can clock it up to the following Core: 875 Shader: 1750 Mem: 2100 (i currently run that at stable on my system atm :) no issues in sto or any games as yet)

Wow that 580 is over my budget. But I found a good site that compares. So the advantage is that the 580 has more pixel power over the 5850. The 560 and the 5850 are pretty much the same. I can see why you suggested the 580. So to go with the 560 would be a short term solution for drivers. Does this game support SLI or crossfire?

go for the 560TI, gigabyte for extreme reliability or zotac for the 5 year warranty
580 if you got the cash and don't care about high heat, or 2x 560TI for a performance better than 1 580 and less heat but more power requirements.

I'm using this atm, before I upgraded I had a Palit 4870 1gig SOC. Never looked back
