The game is almost entirely non-functional, I can login, but it lags so badly that it takes 5 minutes for HALF of the GUI elements to appear, and it's not tracking the movements of other players, just static icons with text.

The game needs to be patched because something was screwed up with the latest patch that enabled starfleet academy, that is when the lag began, so that is where to start looking for the fatal flaws, and I know there is more than one bug at work here.

I am afraid it's not only a matter of a server boot, it's also a matter of fixing whatever bugs were introduced with the SFA patch not too long ago...

EDIT: Now the game launcher won't respond...Now I can scream at my screen until it gets fixed, thanks much...

I am suffering the same problem. I have had NO stability of lag issues throughout the release of season 4, but all of a sudden a few min ago, server started to not respond, and as i log in, i cannot move and then get DC;d after a few min.

I was in the middleof a XP boast run as well, i am not happy.

Also, the STO website is lagging for me as well, all other pages and internet functions are fine.

Have either of you tried to load through the proxies? or are using the proxy and tried loading without it? Also I had heard at one point there was also an issue with the dynamic patcher, but I dont know that is still a problem.

I never run through proxies. Period. They are a hazard to be avoided.

Just on a hunch, I tried it, now my entire launcher won't respond either, I can't even connect to the login server at all, I have triple-checked my connection and traced the packets, it's all getting hosed once it leaves my end of the line, in other words, it hits the servers going to Cryptic then fails.

I was refering to the cryptic hosted proxy servers you can associate in the launcher, I will take it as a no.

Wishy, in looking at my speed test, and net test they seem fine, but the rubberbanding is constant, its everywhere.
