I quit playing this game over a year ago. The reason was I could not customize my action bars nor did I find it easy to navigate the galaxy. I run a Logitech G15 keyboard and could not rearrange the action bars to simulate the keyboard layout.
Have they allowed mods yet? Would love the return to the game but not unless they have either allowed more flexibility with action bars or allowed mods to let us customize the screen for our game play style.
i don't know about the exceptions or the actual rules, but what from what i know, you can't legally mod an MMO like Star Trek Online
sorry
Thats not true, games like WoW encourages modding.
I remember when the game was in beta the idea of allowing players to mod the game was brought up, no idea what happened to it though, I do know there was a site that offered some UI mods but they were told to stop sadly.
^- The above statement is indeed correct. The only way to 'mod' the game right now is by reverse engineering, which isn't okay. Sorry!
Wishy question, if its a client side UI mod to colour code the ability icons could said working pack be emailed in, forwaded to the UI team to help improve it and be set as an official option to the UI for both factions?

I actually put this question into the next 'Ask cryptic' because as it is right now, the icons really arn't very intuitive by all being the same colour.

Thing is I have tools (figuring them out still) and a pack of icons from another player i got a few months back before the updates to setor space and would like the UI team to have a look at the pack so they can see what solution we came up with as it works nicely (color coded by weapon type and class up till some new ones were implemented)
i will only say that Perfect World will probably not use the ATARI rules anymore...
i have no idea what PW's stance on modding is... maybe that would be worth investigating?
until then, i will stay out of this discussion...
just one more thing, if you Cryptic/ATARI do not allow us to use mods, how about you make the fair move and add the things that were modded yourself and make them official? so we do not NEED to anymore
(like a Mouse Cursor that we can actually see?, or an Engine Trails OFF option?)

I don't think that really covers the OP's question, since he's asking about the games UI, not the content ;-)
Sarcasm really is lost on this thing we call tinternet
I understand sarcasm thankyou very much
