Hi all. I have tried asking for help with this from the support section but i still have no reply from them and i only have 30 days to find out if i like the game. Heres the problem, i bought the game 2 days ago, it worked absolutely fine. The next day i logged on and it began this crashing nonsence. It crashes almost instantly when i move my mouse. So far all i can do is fly my ship around untill i need to use the mouse then it crashes. I have a razer deathadder... I have tried unninstalling the game and redownloading (steam), i have tried running steam as admin and/or compatibility mode. I have tried uninstalling my mouses drivers and firmware and also tried using a different mouse but it still continues to crash. My computer has quite high specs so it's no graphical issue. Hoping maybe someone else experianced a similar problem and can point me in the direction.
Edit - After many attempts of running the game to see what triggers the crash, it seems that it crashes regardless of using the mouse but the mouse triggers it straight away and if the mouse isn't used on most attempts the game will run for longer.
I get the same problem. I have a brand new computer with very high specs. I can launch the game and it will sit there fine. I can even log into the game and also fly my ship. But as soon as i move the mouse the game craches. Installed the game with the DVD and downloaded the updates, and then reinstalled by downloading everything from the STO page.
Sounds like your live files are corrupt, if it works on tribble.
You you may want to try to Force verify your files. If you don't know how to do this, ask, and I will post
the mouse in your computer works on a IRQ (Interrupt ReQuest) that disables your CPU from calculating numbers momentarily so you can move your mouse with out a jumping mouse across the screen . So ya you got damaged binary code on your hard drive making your CPU work harder and locking up . The easy Fix is to reinstall windows operating system and all driver IE sound , Video card , they rest is generic drivers that windows supply's. Plus the STO game .

I don't really feel like delegating to my Laptop whenever I want to play STO, as capable as it is.
Everything works fine on the tribble server.
