graphics problem season 4

SystemSystem Member, NoReporting Posts: 178,019 Arc User
I'm running Star trek online on a sony vaio with a ATI radeon 4500 HD graphics card and have just updated my game to the new version.
The graphics are terrible, if I move the camera round I don't get a stable image (window goes different colours). This doesn't happen in the loading screen but does in the gameplay screen.
Anyone else have this problem?

    I read some others having problems also, like crash the OS, best advice is to you update all your Vaio drivers, especially the video card driver.

    While not specifically your same issue I have had graphical issues as well. I started a ticket (posted below). I would appreciate it if someone at Cryptic could address this.

    Ticket Number : 1157147

    Your reply does not address my specific issues. I know what S4 brought with it and I don't want some generic auto-response. I am a lifetime subscriber to STO and I expect for my issues to be addressed. I'm not looking for a fix today, I'm looking for a real person to say, "Hey, thanks for letting us know about this issue. We have moved this issue to our QA Team for further evaluation." Blah Blah Blah. Seriously, this auto response TRIBBLE is garbage.

    ==========
    There have been several graphical issues in the game since S4 released. One is within Fluidic Space. When you are zoomed out from the ship, there are multiple "lines" running through the lower part of the screen, that pass thorough the ship, making these "phased" looks in the graphics. When you zoom in on the ship, the lines turn to a single diagonal line. The ship then has the appearance that the ship graphic is shifted up on one side of the diagonal line, while the other side is shifted down.

    Another issue is with the UI. When you get the popup action windows, if there is more than one option, such as "Scan X" and "Return to Sector Space", then the UI graphic starts to "shake" up and down. I have had this issue both in space and on the ground, and in every sector that I have been in. I tried to submit these in game, but was unable to. The bug system wouldn't accept the ticket.
