This one thing going make me quit playing for few more months again..

Why is that STO launcher crashes so darn much??

after a patch i get to play easy... few games later logging in and out i try again 2nd day and i try log in and it has my ID missing and " I " beam flashing on the password box. im already thinking oh hell naw.. STO launcher bugged out again.

IS there any fix for this perpetual issue? i know im not the only noob out there with this problem.

I have turned on or off firewall, antivirus, and various windows compatibility settings . also deleted files to recycle-bin from the STO folders and caused them to repatch without luck.:(

Support tickets havent helped since GM are like in a sense telling me "what are you talking about"

The launcher is like a miniature web browser. The cursor flashing in the password field with no login already entered means the website in the launcher is still loading. Yes, loading can currently be really slow. Took like 5 minutes the other day for the darn thing to finish loading.

Launcher starts with "about:blank". Asking for a user's password happens on "https://launcher.startrekonline.com/launcher_login". This is the page that takes forever to load. After your authentication was verified you're here: "https://launcher.startrekonline.com/launcher".

I was looking for a way to find out if and when the launcher was finished checking for patches and updating the game, so I could have a script copy all the fully patched game files into a RamDisk to reduce loading times and texture pop ups while playing. The result is a little more knowledge of when the launcher loads what page.

from what i have found it uses The" Atom Publishing Protocol" (APP). i wish they would get rid of the launcher part and let it be only game client patcher.

    this seems too easy.

Try running as administrator always, and set it to Windows XP compitability.

Too easy, yeah ... but if it works it works ... No guarantees though :D

I have tried all possible combinations under compatibility mode prior posting this thread.
