So, this is a bug that sprung up on me back after Beta, and I just returned after a yeat to get a Trek fix...

And the bug is still there.

Basically, my character looks different in the editor than he does anywhere else, regardless of what settings I mess with. The "spots" and scar on his face are meant to be raised/deeper respectively, but are just flat on his skin when I'm actually playing. Back in Beta, this wasn't an issue and on somewhat high settings my character looked pretty much just as he did in the editor, raised spots and everything. It's almost like he (and everyone else I've made!) are now stuck on default lowest character texture, even if I raise the settings to the max.

I run with 4 GBs of RAM and a (crappy and soon to be replaced) ATI Radeon HD 4350. Is it possible my craptacular video card is to blame, despite the fact that this use to work just fine for me?

Check to see if you've got "raise settings in character creator" turned on?

They are on, BUT, it seems impossible for me to raise the settings outside of it. He also appears proper at the character select screen.

Alrighty, I figured it out... who would've guessed "lighting quality" also means "makes your character actually appear like it has bumps rather than smooth skin".

Thanks, the character editor thing pointed me ultimately in the right direction.

actually, if you turn off the "raise settings in character creator" your character will look exactly the same in the tailor as he does in game.
