New system

So I was thinking of upgrading my computer to better run STO, however I have come to the cinclusion that I am just going to get a whole new rig, bought in pieces and assemble it myself.

One of my major concerns is that my internet is notoriously slow, and I definately don't want to have to download everything all over again (days, maybe weeks).
So I was wondering if it would be possible to 'copy paste' or burn to disc the cryptic studios file in C:\Users\Public\Games and put it on a disc or something and install it on a new rig? That way all the patch data etc... would only have to be installed, instead of downloaded and installed.
Are there any kind of preventatives in place to stop me doing this? Would it be damaging to STO on my computer (new or old)?

Please forgive my ignorance if there is common knowledge as to why this would not be possible, as I am not the most computer savvy guy out there, I'm only dipping my feet in for the first time here.

the quickest and best way is to copy the /live/piggs and the /Screenshots folder then on the new PC do the initial install so all the registery and directory premissions are correct then copy the /live/piggs and /Screenshoots folders to the new PC
that way the game will be up to the date of the copy and you will only have to patch to changes that occur from the time you copy the files.

    Thanks for the tip.

I will be doing this (hopefully) very soon... Provided I don't blow myself up putting all the pieces together ;)

At the risk of a nechro, I have an update.

New system is up and running. I began the download (I bought a digital copy) and was planning to try pasting in the piggs and screenshots folders and it seemed like it was gonna take a few days to complete, so I thought that I'd just try and copy paste the whole thing into my new system while waiting on the download, just to see if it would work... And it did!
It took a couple of transfers (didn't have a big enough USB) but all it took was a little care, in making sure that all the file names and locations were as they should be.

STO is running, fully patched, and it blows my mind how much more beautiful it is now :)
    Thanks for the help :)
