I switched to BT Infinity Broadband on Wednesday and since then I have had nothing but issues with STO.
7 out of 10 times (roughly) I change maps (as in go from Sector Space to a planet, or most recently going between the upper and lower sections of the Droza (sp) station in the Devidians Feature). My connection drops and restarts again, but when I am doing anything else, my internet is fine. My wife has also had 0 issues with it.
So, I am in the process of speaking with BT about this, but I thought it may be prudent to check and see if there is anything that STO could be doing that would cause this as it only happens when I am switching maps.
Turned off voice chat like you mentioned but it's had no effect. I'm currently leaving the Dozana Station to destroy the comet and it's 300 seconds not responding and now it's kicked me back to the login. The only change I have made is with my internet provider, but it's worked fine on phones and other PC's. Th only trouble I get is when playing STO and only during missions when I'm changing maps.
