Just downloaded the game client / patches / etc. Never played it before now
Can create a character just fine no disconnects
When playing the tutorial I have terriable lag, rubberbanding, disconnected from server after 2-3 minutes of gameplay everytime, leavin the game unplayable.
I opened TCP ports as instructed and allowed STO through firewall, no change.
My computer plays SWG/WOW/SC2/Netflix/etc. All fine without lag so something must be going on here, any idea's?
For good connections, column 1 and 3 have values around 500 kb/sec (outgoing/incoming), column 2 has values around 20 kb/sec (transfer rate). If the values in these columns is less than what is expected you may have filtering or blocked ports either on your personal network or from your ISP.
also a dxdiag report on your system and are you connected by wire or wireless?
your nettest is not good. anytime you have less than 250 in columns 1 and 3 and less than 14 in column 2 you will have problems with lag and disconnects. it also looks like the wireless connection not stable enough. The game has little tolerance for weak connections.
if you have win7 or vista , the OS will do a scan of the wireless network every 60 seconds . this can cause lag and disconnects on some modem/routers.
if this is the case you can try thses options. it has help some people.

you can also try the proxy options in the launcher and it may help but not always . it depends on where and how bad the connection problem is.
