I play STO on a fast T1 but also sometimes via my tethered Android via laptop. Is there any way I can take the patch from the fast machine and download it to the slower one?
Is the patch a single file or folder i can just copy over? If so, where is it. Thanks!
The prepatch files are actually under c:/<whatsoever>.../Cryptic studios/Star Trek Onile/Live/prepatch/
This should do the trick when the patch go live. Otherwise, I think Cryptic allows patches to be torrented, so just search for a torrent file fo the latest patch, maybe yo'll get lucky. If I am wrong, and they don't do things like that, than by all means, don't do not do it.
you cannot download patch manually. STO Launcher implements new patches in old files, thus making the .hogg bigger and bigger. I already tried writing my own patchserver, it does work, however this patchserver needs also a long time to download even with gigabit download/upload in a carrier data center.
However my own patchserver will only work for my computer right now. To make it public everyone would need a file from me to make this possible. Also the traffic would go very high on my server
