Intermittent disconnects.

I've read a few threads and tried to look up the answers, but between the frustrating constant disconencts and wading through post after post to find not many answers, im now getting frustrated.

throughout my first 3 days playing this im having fun, but the random diconnects are absolutely killing it for me, they occur in space or during a mission, totally at random, today it seems much worse.

I tried switching the EU proxy thing as advised, ive opened up ports, i foudn tis nettest thing from champions.

contacting nettest server..

you nettest reading looks good . it seems your parts are not being blocked or heavily filtered.
might be a routing issue or and intermitent hit.
    post a results of a tracert patchserver.crypticstudios.com

also are you wire or wireless connection. what modem/router do you have ?

Nettest and trace route both look good. Try /netgraph 1 in game to get a visual indicator of real-time network performance. Large bands of yellow or red will indicate lag (note that map transitions always show large blocks of red as there is no data sent while the game loads the map on your local machine). This would at least allow you to confirm a packet loss problem to take up with your ISP.

okay i'll check it out, the game suffers from no lag at all, it plays fine, is just the disconencts,

Well the main thing is that i've played WoW on this conenction i also currently play rift, and various other games online starfraft 2 etc and they dont suffer from random disconects 5 or 6 times a day :(

tracert looks fairly good but little concern about hop 12. that jump within cogentco network should not be like that.

I sometimes get the same issue where I disconnect many times from STO, but not from anything else. I think this game is more sensitive to disconnecting when the internet connection hiccups than anything else, save a VPN connection. Rebooting your modem and router usually solves the issue until enough bad packets clog your modem again in about a month or two.
