Up until the Steam slae weekend I had STO DDE (D2D) and very recently STO CE (just used the cd key). During the Steam sale weekend I bought that too and downloaded it from steam then updated it.
Since then I've been mostly on my Klingon but I'm having all sorts of problems;
rubberbanding
very long retrieving characters and loading between transitions
losing connection to server (up to 180seconds, then reset and loses connection again)
timeouts
maps partially loading
On a few occassions I've logged in and am standing at ESD/Qonos with the 1st year anniversary banners of all things like this picture which has my toon wearing the jupiter veteran uniform
1st yr anni with jupiter uniform.
I did an arena earlier and that went flawlessly and I've played a few missions and they've gone fine too but logging in or trying to change maps seems really painful.
The game varies from okay to bad to just unplayable or being unable to log in altogether. My antivirus, firewall, hardware/software hasn't changed at all on my pc (tried updating my gpu driver but that's it). I've not had downloads going on, mutli processes (pc is reasonably high spec and in good order). Downlaod speed is 5.5mb ish and upload ~3.10mb (ping 43ms). Websurfing and downloads seems to be okay. Not seeing how I've reached any isp limit as my habits haven't changed.
I don't see anyone else having problems like this in large numbers so I don't see it being a server issue but I don't know how steam's sto is causing the problems. I'm wondering if steam's version is somehow confusing things on my account because of the way steam organises its files. I've tried going back to my D2D version and force verifying the steam files but nothing is helping.
Perhaps ports would help but other steam games work fine.
Think that's every bit of information I can think of. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If all else fails I could try removing steam STO or rolling back but if the confusion is at CS's end then it won't help.

Maybe it was gremlins but I'll keep an eye on things. In the meantime I'm going to press on and finish my kling acc grinding.
I've put it down to certain routing to the servers in the US from the UK.
For me the issue is this:
If your "tracert" hops through cogentco or goscomb, you will get these issues. It's as simple as that in my case.
I am in advanced "negotiations" with BT to try and fix this but I am admitting that after two weeks they just don't care. So I'm having to wait and pray for a miracle.
However today I spent 3hrs perfectly fine in KA and beamed up to the colony...*BOOM* server problems. My team saw me so beamed up to space. I however was still loading to colony and forced to quit out. Several attempts later I logged in to find myself at the 2nd space part. 3hrs of my time utterly wasted so a bit peeve off.
I was fine for a while after that but then the problems back again and I'm only travelling through secotr space and explore missions.
Trying to get a GM to help so if they look here;
I'm on ethernet (not wireless).
Antivirus and firewall haven't changed since I bought STO.
ETA: It's not my ISP either I have a 250 GB cap a month and the highest i've been so far is 63GB. I've only used 44GB so far.
Took this sscreenshot today. I'm timetravelling! Jupiter vet costume again during 1st year anniversary. Hope Temporal investigations doesn't get me for this.

I thought maybe my steam version was bad but it updated fine and I've verified the files...not sure if by rolling my pc back will help. I think it's something external to my pc but I'm no expert. Someone's earlier post about servers sounded logical.
So, now I as I write this I am doing a clean re install of the game and see if that fixes it. Just waiting for all the patches to install.......gonna be a looooooong wait.
Nettest:
Go to http://files.champions-online.com/nettest.exe
Download this file and run it
A command prompt should appear running the test automatically
For good connections, column 1 and 3 have values around 500 kb/sec (outgoing/incoming), column 2 has values around 20 kb/sec (transfer rate). If the values in these columns is less than what is expected you may have filtering or blocked ports either on your personal network or from your ISP
if you are less than 250 in column 1 and 3 and less than 14 n column 2 you likely will have lag and disconnect problems.

I'm having this new problem where the first attempt to open the laucnher goes in to indefinite loading (that's what's happening when I ran the test above). I have to close the loader and reopen it and it works fine.
