zeez: Trying to load the new STO patch unsuccessfully. Have recovered from virus attack, but have following patch error>

error 36: A file was locked that could not be open for writing.

I tried the following wothout success:

Solution #3153 Is there a way to verify that my game files are not corrupt?

To verify that your game files are not corrupt please try the following:

Start the game client
Enter your username and password
Click on the Options button at the top of the launcher screen and check the Force Verify box and click the OK button
The game client will now check the installed files and patch files it thinks are corrupt or out of date
Thanks.

one thing that you could try is to erase the game and reinstall the patches i have had simalr problems and this has fixed it for me the location on windows 7 is c/users/public/games/crypticstudios/startrekonline the file you will delete is here its under live when you delete it just restart your installer and it will repatch the entire game

Thanks for the idea. didn't work. I sent "Live" to documents, deleted "Live" from STO folder, same error.

    tow things
    if using win7 or vista
besure the launcher exe and the gameclient exe are set to run as admin
two be sure your antivirus programis not locking the files during scans.
set the game directory to be excluded from the antivirus scan.

    (aslo reboot the PC)

    Well,

anti-virus is dormant, I tried windows 7 restore to previous patch, did not work either. Don't think it could have been chhanged from admin, will check. thanks.
