When you enter space or enter an PVP Match or change maps the server times out !!!
Does cryptic ever going to solve this ???
Or is something wrong with the game settings ???
If it are the settings please help otherwise send someone to fix that server
The problem comes from your connection. I didn't have any server time out for weeks. Server is in very good condition. And what help do you expect when you post hater post:rolleyes:

I had this problem last week, literally a few seconds before my broadband router gave up on me and died, this could be the problem
No sir it's not my broadband because if that where the issue my server would be down to and this was not the case.
So I have to disappoint you it is with cryptic, if it was me then maybe I have to change stuff in the start menu before launch.
And I was not the only one there are more people that encounter server time outs and their Internet was fine to .

Not necessarily. I have issues, usually at the same time of night (11:00 to 11:30) where even though my connection to my ISP is still up, it is not strong enough to maintain connection to the game.
for someoen who has is own server should learn how tcp/ip works . not all packets travel the same routes, or use the same ports or hav ethe same configurations. So very possible one thing might have no trouble while another item might.
post some data
post the result of a tracert patchserver.crypticstudios.com and a nettest
For good connections, column 1 and 3 have values around 500 kb/sec (outgoing/incoming), column 2 has values around 20 kb/sec (transfer rate). If the values in these columns is less than what is expected you may have filtering or blocked ports either on your personal network or from your ISP.
Mostly in the points when most players are playing between 19:00 until 23:00 for America its between 11:00 and 15:00 I think .
If there are a large group using the servers it could drop some players out because the server can not respond on time .
So they have to upgrade the response time off the servers, and I tested it my company servers where fine the moment I was dropped out off the game .
So no its wasnt me that lack the connection, and why are two men playing in the same room another MMO and don't have any difficulty and I was dropped out several times because off an server time out ?
O and I know enough about data packets but I can not discuss it all with you guys that's what we call company value rule .
Actually I'm having the same issue. My net test results aren't great and as far as I can tell (having performed a few pings as well) the only issues are with STO. Everything else performs just fine.
Performed several check ups today we turned on everything we could possibly think off .
Even sto and for 24 ours it worked fine only all STO features timed out and we had an time out onEVE.
For everything else it performed well so just think they have to upgrade there servers .

But mostly with map transfer about 20% it give me server time out .
server ports are running on 48 MBPS so that should be enough .
I can not translate it for you sorry....

Running on US and UN server if I run on German and French the game is in German I don't like it because my German is much worse reading then English .
But If you like I can test that to if it make any difference, O I'm from Holland if you needed to know that .
I know I posted this before but don't know where.
I reinstalled the whole STO game and tried to play again but I was less then 10 minutes online and as soon I was loading a map I dropped out because of an Server Time Out.
I was pretty annoyed about this so I quit started my other MMO and the whole evening there where NO Problems played all night . So how can this be that I'm dropped out every time I try to play STO ??
I'm a little up said because I pay for an game that won't work and my computer is fine because other MMOs that I do also play have no problems .
So is it an switch or an IP that I have to fill in to play the game without being dropped out ?
Still will not get much help until you post the requested data.
your last post shows that your packets are being heavily filtered either by something in your network/PC or by your ISP or one of it's routing partners.
still need you to post the results of a tracert patchserver.crypticstudios.com.
and another nettest from a clean reboot of your PC and router with no other programs running, as the test also showed that something else was sending and recieving data during the testing.
some programs like teamviewer will cause problems to the game connection.

Nettest:
Go to http://files.champions-online.com/nettest.exe
Download this file and run it
A command prompt should appear running the test automatically

Anyone have any ideas why this happened?
