I'm considering upgrading my gaming rig to a 64-bit system. Was wondering if STO would have any issues with a 64-bit operating system or if it would even still work?
the advantage of 65-bit system is the extra ram capacity and such, just gotta get 64-bit versions of software (32-bit will run if there is no 64-bit release), I am on win7 ult 64-bit atm and have no issues with sto or any games that i have installed atm.

Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit user here and it rocks. Its nice being able to use more than 3 GB of RAM.

To quote the updated System Requirements Thread...
OS: Windows XP SP2 / Windows Vista / Windows 7 (32 or 64-bit)
If you have a 64 bit processor then theirs no real reason NOT to use a 64 bit OS
One issue worth looking at is WinXP64 + various old onboard soundcards not working with STO, forcing the game to run with the command line -disablex64check , which totally defys the point in having the upgraded OS

(that is, assuming you can find 64-bit drivers for all of your existing hardware....)
