I had some earlier today, I switched from wireless to wired and it cleared up. It's probably due to a large amount of players on to do the Remastered Episodes. Just try and weather it with whatever techniques you know of.

Same here, in the UK. I've been playing solo missions and exploration fine, and after the patch noticed a lot of lag in the sectors inbetween. I just now tried to get to DS9, and can't seem to log that char back in. I've restarted the router a couple of times over the last few hours to try to clear it up as well

Also UK here, and I too had utterly unplayabe lag.

I fixed it completely by selecting EU proxy in the launcher settings. (odd thing is I already had it selected and had been using the proxy for a few months, but the latest patch changed it to US proxy)

Just something for you to try, or to re-check if you were already using the EU proxy, check it hasnt moved like me over to US proxy.

Add me to that list, it was fine for a while last night here in the UK, but this morning I've had rubber banding, loading screen timeouts, and straight up disconnects midcombat that are making the game unplayable. I did anticipate this though, as with the new episode revamps there's likely to be a spike in STO traffic, which only raises the question of why Cryptic hasn't anticipated it? I'm just glad I managed to get Doomsday (which is excellent) in lastnight, although as things stand now, my chances of getting a look at the new Diplomaticorders are scant at the moment.

Wonderful, unplayable lag has come back for me.

To top that off for technical reasons having to re-install game now via the cryptic/sto downloader, and its max download speed atm of the 6.4gb files will take 3 days.

It would be nice if there could be some kind of official response over this, this cant be a coincidence people in a certain area of the world cant play atm.

I just tried to log in today to see if it was ok...still the same though

I don't know what's going on but this is starting to annoy me! I can't even get into the game without the 'server not responding message' It cant be the remastered missions traffic...this is worse than crash of cloaked intentions! oh well...i guess i have to do something esle with my weekend off :(

    *shrug* agreed Sup.

I understand this *may* not be cryptics problem and something may be wrong between us and them, but still is extremely fustrating, as i am not suffering ant problems visiting other websites, and files i am downloading from other places are DL at full speed on my high speed connection.

Still there is one bright spot for me, my subscription runs out tomorow, and I have just hit the Cancel subscription button, sadly i wont pay for something i cant use.

I'm in Japan and yesterday I was getting stuck at "Retrieving List of Maps" and couldn't even log in. Today I get stuck with "Server Not Responding" about 75% of the time when I'm zoning.

Whatever they changed with the last patch they need to fix ASAP.

You know i think it may have to do with our latest patch onto holodeck...a file may have corrupted or something. I patched up the tribble server and played around in there for a while and it seemed to work fine. I've unistalled the game now and redownloading the torrent...pffftttt

You know Sup, i think you may be on to something there, as when i fiddled around with my proxy settings and lag seemed to go away, I got crash after crash after crash of my STO client, but oddly enough only on 3 three remastered missions.

Cool! i am glad that helped, the EU Proxy trick doesnt always work, some people it helps with lag, some people find it can make the problem worse.

Still, if only the download of the new copy of sto files could go quicker than the 15kb/s it has done for almost 24 hours now, will still take 3 days for me at this rate.

I still think that the repeated crashes i and others have also suffered when the game hasnt lagged over the last day could be due to corruption, just to much of a coincidence that many people are suffering from said Lag spikes, then when game doesnt lag it crashes repeatedly though corruption.

the problem is on cryptics end not ours, its no cooincidence that a number of players including myself can not access the game outside the USA and that favorism game they play, they knew this was going to happen, how could they not? and thought it was a good idea all the same, if this is the new CEO's demand to force players outside the states to endue this wreched lagg and disappointment then i would rather have the old CEO back.

I'm getting the same thing here, it's been going on since last night and I've tried about everything I've found to try to get it working. Good to know it's not something on my end, guess I'll have to just wait it out.

If it mostly effecting UK players (and one japanese player) how do you come to the conclusion its Cryptics fault?

Cryptic isn't in charge of routing your packets across the ocean and then back to you, buddy. :D

Did you check your proxy setting like the other guy a few posts ago mentioned?

    As I mentioned elsewhere:

We are "subscribers". If we're not getting a service we're paying for people will flame - like me - as it's a Bank Holiday Weekend here in the UK. People who want to play can't. Something we pay alot of money for.

Not only that but under EU and UK law Cryptic have obligations under consumer protection law. Hence the flaming.

I'd expect no different if our North American cousins weren't getting the service they'd expect too!

Basically Cryptic should look after it's stakeholders/consumers or whatever you want to call them. Certainly shouldn't take them for granted.

Not only the Consumer Protection Law says that. The law of economics says that too!

It's good customer relations not to take them for granted and to support them, if third party servers are TRIBBLE up the service Cryptic aims to provide! Cryptic should take it very seriously and our complaints seriously.

yeah...well - like I said..since it appears to be a small subset of players sharing a geographic location - odds are its nothing to do with Cryptic. And did you check your proxy setting as the other guy suggested?

Yes, both UK and Japanese ISPs made changes on the exact same day that caused their customers to have the exact same problem. And an even bigger coincidence...both ISPs made the change the same day Cryptic posted a server update.

    /rolls eyes

Have you looked at a globe lately?

The only way Japan and the UK share the "same geographic location" is if you define the geographic location as "America and then everyone else"

Canada is in the same geographic region as the UK and Japan...duh! :D

Anyway, it's a long weekend in the US, so I doubt anyone at Cryptic will even look at this before Tuesday morning there.

Hey there. Guess you only bother to read one post up in forums. If you look a little higher (post #20) you'll see the part where I said "If it is mostly effecting UK players (and one japanese player) how do you come to the conclusion its Cryptics fault?" You do understand what mostly means, right?

Anyway, good luck. Guess the proxy suggestion didn't work for you. Oh well.

Argments aside.. I tried adjusting my proxy to EU, and it now works! :D
I don't know if that was its setting before as it worked, so I had no reason to adjust it previously

No, you said something Dumb about people affected sharing the same geographic region and now you are pack peddling.

I'm not going to argue with you, I've been playing MMOs too long and know your type. You will swear the issue isn't the devs fault unless it affects every single player in the game. You now have at least 3 widely scattered countries with players having the same issue, that all started when the latest update went live.

You can try to tell us it's not Cryptics fault, but we're just going to roll our eyes and laugh at you.

One guy in Japan, one guy in Canada, and what...20 in the UK? There are only 30 posts in this thread. Yeah, that math supports the theory that it is a widespread problem that is related to the patch.

20 guys must be the entire UK playerbase, right?

And its ok..I get it. You didn't like it when I chumped your post. Nobody likes that.

    Have fun.

I'm sure not everyone who has issues posts on this thread. I'm not saying it Cryptic's fault, I very well may be missing something, but assuming it isn't is just as bad as what you're accusing everyone else of when they say it is.
