Stuck at "Retrieving List of Maps"

SystemSystem Member, NoReporting Posts: 178,019 Arc User
I can login and select my character just like normal, but once I click play It goes to "retrieving list of maps" and hangs there until I get "disconnected from server". Up until yesterday the game worked fine, then sometime during the day (Japan time) this started.

I haven't changed anything on my computer to make it stop working, I've also tried both the US and EU proxy settings to no avail. I'm reasonably sure the problem is not on my end, either Cryptic or J:Com (ISP) seem to have changed something on their ends.

Have you already tried using Safe Mode?

I have the same problem. Once I actually managed to load up a character and ended up being frozen, like I was having major lag.

post results of a tracert patchserver.crypticstudios.com and a nettest so there data to work with
as well as a dxdiag in case there something else indicated there that may be a clue.

    Nettest:
    Go to http://files.champions-online.com/nettest.exe
Download this file and run it
A command prompt should appear running the test automatically

For good connections, column 1 and 3 have values around 500 kb/sec (outgoing/incoming), column 2 has values around 20 kb/sec (transfer rate). If the values in these columns is less than what is expected you may have filtering or blocked ports either on your personal network or from your ISP.

anything less than 250 in columns 1 and 3 and less than 14 in column 2 shows that you will likely have lag and connections problems.
