Ive just returned to STO from a long break Ive never had trouble before, but since my return yesterday Ive found constant lag and client crashes and lock up to the degree that my PC has to be turned off and rebooted, have tried to log a bug report in game but client is not stable enough and locks out before I can complete it lock up only occurs whilst in sector space and seems to be worse on one toon in particular.Im using windows XP SP2 with a nvidia gts8000 graphics card and dual core processors. bit of a headache any help appreciated Im not too techie with a PC so it goes over head real quick :)

    Nettest:
    Go to http://files.champions-online.com/nettest.exe
Download this file and run it
A command prompt should appear running the test automatically

For good connections, column 1 and 3 have values around 500 kb/sec (outgoing/incoming), column 2 has values around 20 kb/sec (transfer rate). If the values in these columns is less than what is expected you may have filtering or blocked ports either on your personal network or from your ISP.

    Thankyou for your reply

    I`m seeing column 1 around 230 KB/sec
and column 2 at 8 KB/sec so looking low I guess, Any ideas on how to remedy this if possible?

it indicates your bandwith or packets are being restricted either by something on your pc/router or your isp or some router in the path to the server. post a tracert patchserver.crypticstudios.com
also besure you are running without any extra programs running, some like teamviewer will affect the game.

You will need to contact your ISP for assistance. The 8KB upload rate should ideally be in the 15-20KB range.
