Hi, I played beta and early release of this game, but got bored and left. I thought I would try again as many say it has improved.
However.
The installer never gets higher than 19kbps! This is utterly rubbish, especially considering my 40mb connection. I might get the client downloaded by next year................
Any tips on how to speed it up? I lost the email I got on purchase with the link that I am pretty sure linked to a faster dload albeit with limited times you were allowed to do it..............
Imo is pretty dam shoddy that their still using this system after how long?
I used to play, resubbed tonight, installed from DVD, 5GB to go, which i doubt is the entire patch.
What i dont get is why we cant manually download the individual patches, from multiple mirrors instead of this slow POS.
It's been 6 hours and its patched 1.1GB, downloaded 600MB?
After getting frustrated i thoguht i might aswel try out Spiral Knights, downloaded the whole thing in 10-20minutes, 300MBish worth.
I wouldn't be as irritated, if any of the devs even had replied to these posts saying why, airing some help, or even saying if they acknowledge the problem and their working on it.
Oh, and don't get me started on the torrent. I have seen dead snails move faster. According to my client, it will take approximately 32 days to torrent it. My connection should download this game in under 10 minutes.
First of all, info ninja, if you put as much effort in to actually HELPING people, as you do just conveniently deleting stuff you don't know the answer to, we would all be sorted.
Secondly, I would like to point out to all, the ticket system works well, I got a very prompt response with some very good ideas on what to check to see if we can resolve the issue. Infoninja, you could learn from this.
I have done the tests asked and will see if we can fix it!
No matter how much i refresh it, it downloads 2MB out of my remaining 200MB, and stalls.
Must be awesome being a company that sells to multiple countries and yet seems to priorities certain connections first.
I also find it rather ironic, that they said their reducing devs in this forum to reply faster with tickets, its been two days and nothing. And yet ive seen devs and reps postiing in other threads whilst ignoring the patcher issue threads it seems.
I guess they just dont want money. A good company is based on good customer service, and the fact not one rep has replied in the tech help forum for 3 days... is pretty dam shockiing considering how slow this forum moves. But it seems Euro and Oceanic money isnt good enough? I've never had these problems with any other company.
And oh, just turned on my patcher to try with your convenient timing, its stuck loading, seems it cant even find the HTML for the client.

Also, unlike wow half the time, my traceroute comes back from the patch server without timing out (even though i've almost never had a problem with wow)

Downloader is transferring between 700 - 900 kb/s. At this time, most of USA is asleep.

You might have something there, regarding the timing. Doing it now and I get between 3500-4500kbps!
Moral of the story, make sure you try all possibilities before whingeing on forums and making yourself look a pillock! (I refer to me, that is).
Still think info ninja is an idiot though.
