    I have a similar issue...

Try connecting to one of the proxies... Usually helps.

The PROXY settings can be changed via clicking the OPTIONS link on the launcher window (I think it is near the top).

I just logged in and the server status says it is in the green, so you might be having a local connection issue?

And I assume you've tried to click the patch button?

I just logged in not 20 minutes ago.

it started working normally at around 1:30, but it was still disconnecting a bunch. idk what it is. i get some really serious lag at the starbase and insane numbers of disconnects. not my router or firewall or anything as i do play other MMOs and have no real issues. my computer is high quality. i built it myself for gaming. my connection is on a personal 25 mb download and 5 mb upload. this game is the only game that disconnects almost assuredly every couple minutes. at least, this has been my experience over the first 5.5 hours ive had the game.

could your isp be blocking sto ports on thier firewall, its a failry common issue with isps and certain games. the gen range is 7000-7500 as they are randomised on that range during each connect.

comparing other games or sites to another is like saying I can not make it to work if I take a left at the intersection but not the right but I can make it to the store(other side of town) so must be my work place fault.

each MMO uses different ips, different routing, different ports, different packets configuration, and have different latency requirements.

post the results of a tracert patchserver.crypticstudios.com and a nettest

    Nettest:
    Go to http://files.champions-online.com/nettest.exe
Download this file and run it
A command prompt should appear running the test automatically

For good connections, column 1 and 3 have values around 500 kb/sec (outgoing/incoming), column 2 has values around 20 kb/sec (transfer rate). If the values in these columns is less than what is expected you may have filtering or blocked ports either on your personal network or from your ISP.

and a dxdiag report on your system so there is some data to work with.

also some programs like teamviewer will prevent the game from working.
so do a clean reboot and make sure you do not have any extra programs running.

your nettest looks pretty good except the one drop at 7202 port which indicates to me inttermitent connection problems. confirmed by the hop problems at hop 7 and 9 at the cogentco.com routers. this has been an on going problems for oversea users and something cryptic has little control over.

you will need to contact your isp see if they can provide a different in routing path (some isp have done this) or try the proxy option in the launcher to see if you get a differnt routing.

interesting. im overseas? i didnt realize cryptic wasnt a US-based company. im in las vegas, nv, usa.

also, since this morning, ive had lots of good connections and only disconnected twice. this makes me think they have to upgrade their servers or at least add a few, to handle the traffic better. im wondering what kind of servers they have, actually. ive definitely played games with servers overseas and state-side. never had the issues i do with these guys. i lost about 8 hours of playtime from all the disconnects >_<

No I said that a lot of the oversea users have this problem because most of thier connections from oversea go thru cogentco.com. most US connections don't . I don't go thru cogentco.com in my routing and I have never.. repeat never had lag or disconnect problem since the original beta except when the server did have a problem that affected every single player and not a few and they informed everyone of this fact.
(tell it was everyone cause there were 30 new threads started about it in 5 minutes)

I am having similar problems. Ever since the patch yesterday i cant login no matter what. I had tried safe mode and proxy settings. Deleted the live folder and the character.hogg file in particulr and still nothing. I get to the character screen if im lucky then get kicked as soon as one tries to load.
