I know that there is the option to use TOS uniforms for Klingon faction characters, but how about bringing in the smooth forehead TOS Klingons as a playable character race? And how about the TOS Gorn uniforms as well? I'd even be willing to purchase a TOS package for the Klingon faction if it were available.

From the material I've seen/read regarding them, they're physiologicly different. If I do decide to make another Klingon, I'll use the alien and make a ToS one.

I'd like to see them add the option too, it makes doing the mission in the past more amusing when you look in character.

TBH, I would have preferred if the had not given the KDF Joined Trill, but Augmented Klingon instead.

They could have kept the Hyper Metabolism trait with the same name and the Joined Symbiote trait could have just been renamed to Augmented Neural Pathways with the exact same stats.
It would have fit what was said in "Enterprise" about the augmented Klingons there ("stronger, more intelligent") and it would have kept the factions more seperate.

That's actually an excellent point. And I like the idea of using an alien template as an immediate fix.

    YES!!

    This is great.

    nuff said.

as far as a tos klingon, they would basically be this augment but with out the fancy skills, you do after all have to unlock the joined trill.

My Klingon main is a TOS Klingon, which I had to make using the Alien species.

The worst thing about it is that, while Cryptic has given us the unique gold tunic, they have NOT given us the distinctive pants or belt or boots. And the female Klingons in TOS had a unique one-piece miniskirt dress which is also not in the game at all.

Dear Cryptic: If you're going to give us a "TOS Uniform" option, please give us the ENTIRE UNIFORM, not just one piece of it! And a way to make Klingons smooth-headed and with the facial hair of the TOS. Otherwise, we can't really make TOS Klingons at all!

Meh, that's what the alien generator is for.... not the name Klingon but the look and skills of one....

I really think removing the joined trill would be the best solution, it isnt really canon that I can tell, and giving it the same trait as the joined trill, with a new name totally fits with the augments. I really think Cryptic should do this, Im amazed they didnt think of it!

I am surprised they waste time creating any TOS stuff considering it is the 25th century.

ummm do you know how many people love the tos stuff?

and time travel is like one of the most repeated themes in every series...its only logical to have tos uniforms.

I too have a TOS Kilngon and as I PvP, using the alien species has worked perfectly as I can pick all four traits. That said, they should finish the TOS uniform(s).

The idea is that Curzon Dax was a well respected Trill ambassador among Klingon circles. He lived like a Klingon and earned their respect. Jadzia Dax was also respected by the Klingons because she is "the heir" of Curzon. Both were considered Klingons despite not being born Klingon. Joined Trill as part of the KDF are suppose to be part of this tradition (Symbionts that have earned the respect of the Empire).

Check the DS9 episode "Blood Oath".

I had no idea...thanks for that.

however Im still a firm believer that they should just remove the joined trill from the kdf and make it the augment klingon. Any joined trills would be grandfathered in, and could possibly become a vet reward.

I wouldnt use the Alien creator to create a Tos Klingon, Im afraid i would rather wait for them to add it or not have a Tos Klingon at all.

Why? Seems like a waste of resources creating a whole new species we can already create. I prefer aliens as this affords me the ability to pick all my traits.

well if a joined trill is canon for klingons, I say add the tos ones anyway, with a diff skills set. Remember they were very smart and strong but arrogant as well in an extreme.

Why "waste" the resources? Its bringing the klingon faction some rp flavor...

But you can already RP as a Klingon augment using the alien species and you get to choose all the traits. IMO it doesn't get better than that. I wouldn't want some BS trait assignment the Devs come up with when I can pick my own. Use the resources to flesh out the KDF in other ways.

You're obviously not the target market for this then. No one said they'd take away the ability to use the alien species to do just that. If there is enough demand, the devs will add it in because it's either something the players want and they'll give it to us or it's something that enough players would buy and the work would pay for itself.

It would be nice if they got rid of the Trill and gave us Augment instead. Anyone that has a Trill now could have the option to change at the tailor.

You could do the same with Tellarites on the Fed side early on. But they made Tellarites a playable race.

You can currently do the same with Androids, but I hear Androids are in development.

You can do the same with cardassians but people keep asking for cardassians as a playable race.

    Just some food for thought.

Yeah, I made a couple Cardassian boffs, LOL. All I'm saying is that as much as I love TOS, I'd rather the resources be used for significant upgrades rather than fluff. Yes having a toon that says "Augmented Klingon" instead of "Alien" is fluff to me. I'm not against this.. I'm simply saying lets have some priorities.

If it becomes a revenue generator for Cryptic by selling the Augments then it's not fluff to them. They'll make up the money they spent on programmer wages at some point. I don't know what the ROI is though.

Yeah... I said having the species name is fluff to me. Anyway, again, I'm not against it... I'm simply saying prioritize what the KDF needs. I mean where does this rank in the scope of all that we need? Talk about a let down... "hey we spent three months developing something you already have that's better," when they could say, "hey we spent three months on Klingon territorial control" or something like that. Is what I'm saying so unreasonable?

I never said your argument wasn't valid, only proposing a reason why they might pursue it. And we're only playing what if right now. I haven't heard anything about them actually working on this, only "wouldn't it be nice". I understand that you don't feel that way, but apparently a few of us do think it would be a good idea.

They're already talking about revamping somethings on the Klingon side in season 4 or 5. I don't know the extent of it, but information is available in the engineering report and the monthly Q&A page.

When this was brought up before, I suggested that the Honorable trait be swapped with one of the two human traits. I agree on why not add another separate species.? Cryptic would likely be more open to the idea if they sold the Augments in the C-Store.

Yup, the food is really chewy....dunno about you but KDF androids?...lol....that would be...nice.. Klingons...without the smell of a Klingon....lol.

I just started playing this and I bought a boatload of Zen to do a TOS version of the game. They really haven't made a TOS Klingon pack yet? Dang...... Whoever's been making custom TOS Klingons, please shoot me a PM on how to do it. Thanks!

Technically of course the augment thing is Soft canon based on federation views alone (its from a holodeck program)

    Yeah really
Enterprise is ALL a holodeck program probably written by Reg from the sheer amount of bare flesh
    Live long and Prosper
