Need some advice on a PC to run STO

I have a HP pc now, its spec is beside the point since it can run STO but not at the settings that makes me appreciate the game for the visual aspects of STO.

So I was thinking about an upgrade and I was going to have a pc built to STO recommended specs or better and I saw this pc..
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/HP+-+Pavilion+Desktop+/+AMD+Athlon%26%23153%3B+II+Processor+/+4GB+Memory+/+1TB+Hard+Drive/1757098.p?id=1218289373194&skuId=1757098&st=P6754Y&cp=1&lp=1

I was wondering if anyone thought or knew for certain if this pc linked above can run STO with good to high (if not maxed) settings.

Now I know I might egret this but, if anyone has any recommendations on a good pc for the price that will run STO at good to high (if not maxed out) specs I would greatly appreciate the input AND advice.

Thank you ahead of time and I will see yall out there.

quite simply... no it won't. Not even close.

If you want to play STO with some graphical quality I would look less into processor speed and more into higher end graphics cards. STO is not bound by most current CPUs.

But we would have to know more info. What's your monitor like (resolution wise?). What's the max your looking to spend?

Well now are you being fair to say it wont not even close, sir?

It meets the requirements so I know it will run it, especially if it is better than what I got and what I got runs it good but with lower settings, but what I was looking for will those requirements be enough to make it look good? AND play smoothly?

If your answer is still no then what are your reasons, if you don't mind me asking specifically please?

Also I play with extended desktop on a 42" Vizio LED/LCD Razor and what I am looking to pend depends on what I need, minimum, to play STO decently and smoothly. Then I will decide from there what I will spend or not :)

What you linked has a processor that is 3 generations old now. For a similar price you could get into a low end sandy bridge setup (which is the current generation) and get much more oomph for your buck. I would be happy to answer all questions and provide links and such on TS :)

Your question specifically stated "good to high, if not maxed". And that system will not come close. not with a radeon 4200.

Still doesn't answer my question though.. what's the resolution?

I play and use me PC at a 1360x768 on the monitor I game on, but my extended monitor is a standard flat screen monitor with a res of 1024x768.

And your right it is in how I worded it but I should have said what I did in the later post, a pc that runs STO good with descent graffics (high end or maxed was wishful thinking) and smoothly.

I am curious to see what pc you would recommend, IF price was not an concern but didnt want to sell the kids and dog to get it. So in short what PC do you recommend, short of building one, that will not cost me allot but will do what I want it to do and that is play STO with descent graffics and will run smoothly? And of course the cheaper the better obviously...

Thank you for the recommendation, and it gives me an idea of what I need.
I was hoping to spend 600-700 but now that I now what I would need I can shoot for this.

    Thank you.

The processor isn't the problem. STO, like most games, needs very little CPU power.

The Radeon HD 4200 is the problem. My laptop has that. It "runs" STO at minimal resolution and settings. The game looks like something 1995 barfed out.

The linked PC would be fine with a graphics upgrade- perhaps a Radeon HD 5670 or a Geforce GT430, neither of which should stress its power supply.
