It's will be a love story. A controversial one to fit in the current times.
Mommy and Daddy lens flare is last season.

This year it will be... Daddy and Daddy lens flare adopts an underprivileged lens flare from Ursa Beta Shiny!

I'm basing this on the story from the previous movie where Captain Len. S. Flare of the U.S.S Shinyprize got to blast lazors at some bright shapes in space. :p

Len. S Flare U.S.S. Shinyprize.. My goodness I'm almost insane enough to make him.

Well, the first movie was based on Star Wars, so in the next movie Kahn gets to say "Kirk, I am your father."

Chat do you think Bjork should do the sound track For the Darth Khan march or John Williams?

You know its prob just and ALT Jar Jar bit... Messa sorry Ani but messa your daddy..

I know enough to say anythings possible with the right motivation and Script revisions..

I don't think Galaxy Questing or Mel Brooks Trek is ready yet.. But Scary movie speaking
Sigourney Weaver Paris Hilton and Jessica Simpson could be good BOoks on some ship the New Prise saves.. imagine how Jealous Ahura would be went that captain gets his Kirk on..

yeah we all know the TOS was Spock was a Jr science officer and Pike the Captain then they ran into TAlos and Then the Enterprise..wandered around
received new CMO Engineer and Captain.. and SPOCK had been Promoted to CDR and ade EXEC ..
traveled for a year then receive a new helmsman named Chekhov.. the rest was history.

Well, the first movie was based on Star Wars, so in the next movie Kahn gets to say "Kirk, I am your father."

It's almost worrying how much was lifted from Star Wars. Seriously, starts with big ship attacking little ship, farmy yokel kid dreams of space, meets someone who knew his father, bar fight, gets into space with someone he doesn't like but becomes friends with, warping into debris field, big ship blows up planet, small ship pwns big ship, medal time. If it were any closer to A New Hope it's likely Lucas'd have sicked his Imperial Storm Lawyers on Abrahams. Still, serves Lucas right for ripping off Dambusters with the trench run. The Star Wars audio even synchs up with the attack on the Murne dam.

As for the plot of the next film, I want Klingons, it's the next logical step. The most we saw of them was Klingon Cruisers in Kobyashi Maru hit by a Kirk nerfhammer so hard even Cryptic would blush. They are the classic antagonist, and Kirk's nemesis, and he theirs. I'm not sure they'd dare touch Wrath of Khan. It's probably the most well regarded film, I know people who don't dig Trek at all who dig it. Nobody could pull Khan off like Montabalan. If they did bring Khan back though, I suspect rather than wrath of khan, it may be Space Seed they revisit.

Edit: And how Hothy was that ice planet? And how Phantom Menace Monstery were the monsters? And Spock saving Kirk, like Obi Wan saving Luke from the Tusken Raiders (can't say sand people this day in age).

The first half hour will have a scene showing the Enterprise in dry dock, like in TMP but with more lens flare.

I dunno.. I was so disappointed and confused by the last one's lack of focus, or was it the lens flare that did it...I dunno...that I likely will completely bypass the next movie all together.

Perhaps the plot for the new movie in JJverse will contain, not only elements from Star Wars again, but Tron Legacy as well :p

i would personally like it to maybe have a later enemy, like the cardassians, the sphere builders, the Xindi or species 8472 or something not TOS related as im more of fan of the later shows. Tholians could be epic though.

I also want to see an andorian, a tellarite, maybe a caitian show up. andorians have been sorely underutilised if you ask me.

although im reluctant to have them to khan as it just seems to obvious, i think totally twisting the storyline so that he is found by klingons instead of the enterprise or that he somehow becomes a good guy would be a fun twist.

I feel like the movie format largely doesn't work with what I consider makes good trek so as long as it keeps the general public interested in trek until the point when we get another trek show ill be pleased.

I agree with you entirely. The rest of you who keep crying wanting these movies to stop need to really understand how the world works. These JJ abrams movies keep trek alive. When they go we have no chance of a new series for the next ten years. I know you guys don't want that. The JJ verse Star Trek made 383 million worldwide not including DVD sales and electronic media. Don't be ignorant with how things work. Embrace it because it helps keep Star Trek alive and believe me I love Star Trek good or bad.

P.S. the highest Grossing Star Trek before this was First Contact and it mad 150 million, and Nemisis did 43 million, Voyage Home did 133 million, Wrath of Kahn did 97 million world wide. numbers make films and keep projects alive.

I think we may differ on the definition of "alive". THE ENGINE ROOM WAS A BREWERY!

The exclusivity of a niche-fan base is appealing to some, I suppose, like a remant versus status quo thing. Personally, I like the Abrams movie. It has its weak spots storywise, but his image of Trek is refreshing. The ship interiors were a thing of beauty. Drawing on the old TOS sounds made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. (It's streaming on Netflix right now so I can watch it as many times as I want.)

I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing that some Star Wars influence made it in the movie. It wouldn't hurt for some Trek influence to make it into any future Star Wars ventures. Star Wars needs more science and less magic anyways. Eh, I just recently learned a few years ago what makes the Force the Force: tiny little microorganisms called midi-chlorians that live inside cells.

The thing is, sci-fi should be progressively open to relevant influences. We have to build on what folks in the past have done. Canon should be a guide to give us ideas to buid on, not a rigid lawbook meting out harsh punishments for any deviations. Otherwise, forget LCARs, lets just stick with TRIBBLE and buttons (worked for the Delta Flyer, ha!)

From what I have heard Klingons may be the main vilian and The Rock may be playing a Klingon. I have also heard the next movie will based on one of the first TOS episodes were Kirks best friend becomes possesed by some force, its the episode were the guys eyes went silver and he had powers that reminds me of a Q.

The Crew of the Enterprise use the slingshot maneuver to go forward in time and kill Nero at birth to stop ST XXI from happening then crash themselves into the sun in a heroic attempt to not cause a paradox.
