As stated, a temperature issue would be my guess as well. Almost all BIOS's will force your system to shutdown if the CPU gets above a certain temp. Check it out before you do some damage.
I'll check out the CPU temp. It could be as I just cleaned out my wife's laptop as her CPU fan had become clogged and was shutting down. Luckily, I'm on a desktop and that is a lot easier to get to. Her laptop was in a million pieces to get to that darn fan! :-p (Yes, I put it back together and it works like a charm now. )

Usually when you get a temp prob with a video card it will cut the game off and say device driver not responding.
