I hadn't noticed any change, but then I mostly post in Ten Forward. I've seen a few new faces posting in this part of the forums though

I've noticed that a lot of people are being periodically suspended. Cryptic has started enforcing the rules, and very few people seem to be aware of the policies.

Also, things always get a little lull-some when there isn't as much to talk about. Since Season Four is still a ways away, and the Featured Episodes are on hold until after it releases, it's not unexpected that it would be a little quieter than it's been previously.

As Season Four draws closer and parts of it start to make their way to Tribble I'd expect things will pick up again. Or, of course, if a big bit of news drops that could help. As stands now all there really is to talk about that's new is the Breen Set, and the place for that is the Tribble boards.

I have been noticing it in the discussion section for sometime know. I don't think areas like Ten Forward have changed much.

not really, seems more or less the same but unless you have some form of tracking system for how many people post then its probably the rose tinted glasses effect.

everything was always better before now.

The german and french subforums have been closed. So there is less talk, yes. There is no space left for non-english community her. That`s not trek, isn`t it?

I would say for good reason. But I want my opinion to be heard. without having to shell out 300 bucks.

Well, when you make a thread and it used to move off the first a page, in under a hour. Now when you make a thread and it stays on the boards all day and no one post in it. It's pretty obvious traffic has dropped.

You don't have to believe traffic has dropped off, if you don't want too.

I suspect it has more to do with fewer topics being posted to general discussion. Users are either following the lead of the Mods or the Mods are moving the threads to more appropriate sections of the site. Which results in less fires and that's a good thing. Especially during the weekends. ;)

I think its a combination of

    1) Mod action

    and

    2) Players away for a while since there isn't much to do except Foundry.

The forum police (...that means anyone who is not a Cryptic/Atari employee but acts like they are, quoting rules and telling posters what to do...) should quit dropping by. Those are the people I put on ignore.

The forums are slower, and I like it. ;)

This got me thinking. I browsed through the forum and made a chart about posts/day from 2010. Apr to 2011. may:

This would be my speculation also. Once season 4 hits Tribble the forums should be more active.

the only thing i would have to say is it is more than likely due to the lack of content right now... it will pick up at season 4.

however, i just wanted to say that (and i hope i am right). there is no way to know if someone was suspended or not... devs and moderators arnt gonna tell you when they do, and if you were suspended i would hope it wouldnt state it on your account to the public... that is no ones buisness but you and the moderators... this hypothosis is out in left field (the only reason i dont say this with complete confidence, is ive learned that cryptic can suprise you lol...)

If someone is suspended from the forums they show up as banned in one of the post they made before they were suspended.

I go through a lot and search for players. I will read a post it will remind me of someone and I will go see when the last time they posted.

    I miss Popkornn.

I think it also has to do with season 4 - not to mention most people only come to the forums when they have problems :P

A lot of us also know that it's pointless to talk about ground issues, or something new right now because all the attention is on season 4 right now.. So I'm in a holding pattern until I know what changes season 4 will bring :P

What is this in reference to? The statement seems kind of...out of place.

    1) Mod action

    and

    2) Players away for a while since there isn't much to do except Foundry.

This is my theory as well.

I'm posting less and less here, because of recent events that we are not allowed to talk about due to penalty of moderation and threats of the ban hammer.

I'd rather not get into it here, because I don't want to draw Wishy into this...I'll go off....and probably get permabanned. :/ I'd like to at least keep the option to post here occasionally.

I don't post much anymore cause it seems that my quirky sense of humor is an Almighty Ban-Hammer Magnet.

I'm just back to being a Lurking Thread-Stalker.

    Agreed.

Mainly I have been on my 360, there isn't much to do aside from level characters and play UGC, which honestly doesn't appeal to me. I'm waiting on the next big ground update. I just pop my head in here when bored because the community is decent.

See that Admiral Tarkin? The more you tighten your grip the more systems will slip through your fingers. ;)

Wait where did that reference come from? Oh yes, death star.
