I know that I'd already posted another topic concerning it, but I figured, since that one was about me trying to
find a video/audio capture program and this one's about the one I'd found, I figured this would be a better topic to get advice from [since those who read the other topic title won't know that I'd gotten a program without reading inside the topic; they'd just know I was looking for one].

What I'd done so far with it was change the folders [to a new folder in the "Documents" menu for each] and changed the hotkeys.

This is what I changed them to.
the Benchmarking Hotkey is F1
The Overlay Hotkey is F2
The Video Capture Hotkey is F3
The Screenshot Hotkey is F4
Though I tried it and it still won't record or capture screenshots.

If anyone's ever dealt with this problem, I'd really love some help [and you can just ignore the other topic. lol I'd close it myself if I could. hehe]

If that doesn't work, I'd suggest looking in a fraps related forum.
I'll check in a FRAPS forum; thanks for trying to help, hort!
Plus I'd tested all the F# keys before starting; the new ones I picked were the only ones that didn't have another job tied to the key.
This is becoming very confusing...lol
I have hilighted your issue!
Y'know, that might be it, though I unfortunately can't say 'cause I'm really not sure how to check that.
Here are the instructions for opening Device Manager, it lists all the versions of windows you can play STO on.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Device_Manager
Once in there you will see a list of hardware on your computer, click the + sign next to the one that says DISPLAY ADAPTER and then once you see the name of the Video Card do a google search for that card followed by "specifications".
For example mine is the NVIDIA Geforce 9400GT so I google searched Google for NVIDIA Geforce 9400GT Specifications I found this link http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_geforce_9400gt_us.html
On this page I found a tab that says 'specifications' clicking it I see that the system clock I have is a 550 mhz, You can then check FRAPS to see if your video card fits the minimum specifications to run FRAPS.
You may want to make sure you have the newest verison of Fraps to see if that helps.
I hope this helps.
I FIGURED OUT THE PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was SO simple, I can't believe I didn't see it before...lol
When I saw the startup menu like that with all the directions and everything [hotkeys, etc.], I thought it was just the settings menu, so I kept exiting the program after I fixed everything up.
I found out that you're only supposed to minimize it...:o
So, after that, I tested it with a screenshot as well as a short video and both look beautiful! The video especially, with the sound intact just as if I was playing it on my laptop!!!!
Although one thing I can't seem to figure out...lol...anybody know how to get rid of those numbers at the upper left hand corner??
EDIT: No worries! lol Figured out how to do that, too! All I had to do was go into the "FPS" section and click "Hide overlay". lol
Thanks to all you guys who helped me out with this! I really appreciate it!
