You remember EXO Squad

You remember the 90's cartoon Exo Squad. One of the best American Cartoons. It was a real deep show that explored a lot of real issues. Well as a tribute meet my crew. When STO came out I wanted a theme for my ship and crew. Trek names are a little to easy. So I decided to name mine after EXO Squad. All of the crew has names from the show. As well as the ship. I had to wiki the names since it has been off for so long. Since I made this I added a Remen Officer and did a uniform redesign.

Do any of you have your crew or ship themed after any show or thing.

Vaguely remember it existing. Didn't really have time for cartoons in that decade.

Got season 1 on DVD. They never release season 2 (at least to the best of my knowledge). And it was a pretty cool show. One of the few of the time that had semi-realistic cartoon violence.

I remember it! It was a great show, I think it was my favorite American cartoon until Avatar: the Last Airbender. I recently read on the wiki that the battles in it were meant to reflect real battles from WW2, quite impressive. I didn't know that I was learning something when I watched it.

My favorite guy was Bronski. My favorite girl was Maggie. :o

I also wanted to add that I really liked the haircuts in that show. The hair styles of all the people were made to fit around the plug in the backs of their heads. That was clever and ended up with some unique styles. Strange thing to notice I guess, but I'm a strange guy...

Missed this show...mostly because I was nowhere near a TV between Sept 93 and Nov 94....Navy...was in Gunner's Mate school...and truthfully was too busy studying and drinking to pay attention to most TV, then I was in San Diego on the Kitty Hawk, preparing for my first deployment

Funny enough...there was this latina girl, Selena...I am sure some of you heard of her....Her entire rise to fame and death, took place in the time I was on WestPac...Missed that entire thing. I never new she existed until in 98 my girlfriend at the time was watching the movie about her...I was so lost...had no clue what was going on.

I missed so much TV during my time in the Navy...Missed some Voyager, and most of DS9....Just never got near a TV most of my time in...until like my last year or so in.

I remember that! The animation was good for the time but the writing was exceptional for an animated program (especially an American animated program and very good for a sci-fi show in general). It had an ongoing, consistent plot and was surprisingly dark. The color schemes of the power-suits was a little unbelievable for a military force but otherwise it was very well done.

I remember it quite well, actually. One of the better shows to have come out. Well written and intelligent - no wonder it got cancelled. I also recall ROBOTECH mecha got a second life being remarketed under the EXOsquad brand for a while, too.

Ya, and I'm really big on making them look as close as possible to the people/things which inspired them. No point in naming a character, saaay, Optimus Prime or Megatron if you don't at least TRY to make them look like the source material...

K.I.S.S. (a Knight In Starfleet's Service) is my tribute to the band. He commands the U.S.S. Detroit Rockcity and looks as close to Gene Simmon's make up as the toon generator will allow. The other "band" member is as close to a "cat" as possible, and the rest of the crew are "groupies."

Glyph of the U.S.S. RECOGNIZER is a program from the TRON universe. She's the grid unit of both TRON and YORI. Tried to give her and her crew a glowing look with their uniforms and names that sound like "programs."

Prowl of the U.S.S. DEFENSOR is my technorganic Autobot. Grimlock, Arcee, Hound and Huffer are the
main crew, but I did another costume for Prowl to make him look like Snarl, and also have Slag and Swoop. Sludge is the last Dinobot I need to make, but gotta wait till I have another officer space.

Thundercracker of the I.K.S. FRENZY is the Klingon Decepticon counterpart. Crew consists of Ravage, Black Arachnia, Weirdwolf, Starscream (yes, he's my sci officer) Skywarp, and Shockwave <--- my Breen officer.

Cool, I will have to check that out. I remember watching it way back then. For years I couldn't remember what it was called so I could look it up. Stumbled across something about it again several years ago. Probably worse than I remember it, but will look into it.

REALLY?! I must look it up. I tried to find a torrent of it once (Didn't know the first season was put onto DVD), but all I could find were really low-quality VHS copies. Frigging amazing show, and I was just floored at how many serious issues it addressed, especially for a kids' show (racism, slavery, genocide, piracy, civil rights...).

I remember sneaking up at 6 AM to see it when it was airing then, watching it darn near on mute so my parents wouldn't hear, but still getting in trouble with my dad because I was still supposed to be in bed, heh (think I was about 8 or 9 at the time).

Heh, yep, same time where I was too. I had to set my dad's vcr to get it. Then of course my sister would TRIBBLE it up so I'd miss it and I'd be bummed out all week.

And of course it showed up on Hulu a couple months after I paid some guy for some cruddy copies he made himself...

Bought the season set. Even those I'm 30 something I still love that show. for it's time it was excellent, and still is to a point. The animation being the only thing lacking. But still, a excellent show. And Marsh...that rocks.

Exo Squad still doesn't ring a bell.

Anyone remember Cardcaptors? I loved that show. Then I found the Japanese version, Card Captor Sakura. I cried when I found out what was done to that to make that into Cardcaptors.

See that happen a LOT....it is sad.

It's scary what they think won't translate well to non-Japanese audiences....
