Help with the launcher

Hi,

I'm experiencing a problem with the launcher. When I open it, I only get a error page that look like a "page not found from IE", but that says: "This program cannot display the webpage". The curious thing is that from my internet conection at home, this error happens, but when I configure a VPN to my university (using the same conection I have at home), things work.

A screen from the error, with a nettest I runned is posted on the link bellow:

Nettest result and launcher

I would apreciate any help on this.

Our launcher needs to have Internet Explorer. If you have blocked your IE, this problem could happen. Do you generally use another browser?

I usually use chrome, but have IE 9 installed. But since I don't use it frequently, only when you mentioned this I made a test and noticed it isn't opening not even google. I'll try to find what is causing this. Thanks for the advice.

You don't need any version of IE to use the game. I use firefox and have never had problems with loading. I dont know if there are issues with crome but you dont need IE to run the game.

Actually, you do need IE. You don't have to use it as your main browser, but you have to have it's core components installed on your computer.

If the connection works when you are on VPN and not just your home Internet connection, you may want to check your proxy settings under Internet Options. You can find Internet Options either in the Control Panel or the Tools menu of Internet Explorer. Once you have Internet Options open, click on the Connections tab, then the Lan Settings button. For home use without VPN, you don't want any proxy server. What might work for both home and VPN is the autodetect option.

I used to run into a similar error all the time. Try purging your internet history, cookies, temp files, etc. Do it in IE and whatever you use as your primary browser. Doing that always fixed the issue for me, although I have no idea why you're able to log in depending on your physical location, so this may or may not be of any help to you. Might be worth a shot, though.

Well, thanks for the advice, but now I have already reseted IE to it's default and it's working again, both Launcher and the browser. But thanhks for the help everybody.

Actually, what you need is MSHTML. If you have one of the very few versions of Windows that installs without IE, which I think might be in exactly one country, it still installs MSHTML. Which leaves you with a choice if your IE gets messed up, which happens sometimes:

    Reinstall Windows, or install IE.
