We know the cast already includes Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Michael Shannon as General Zod and Kevin Costner and Diane Lane as Superman's adopted Earth parents, the Kents.
But do you agree with the German actress Antje Traue playing the role of Faora Traue?
Do you even care there is a new reboot in the works? I don't know about you guys, but I am looking forward to this version. How about you?
I'll be honest; I never was all that interested in Superman. I basically grew up on the Tim Burton Batman films, not to mention the DCAU Batman TAS from the 90s; I always prefered him over most other heroes, whether they were from DC or Marvel. But I am curious who would be playing Lex Luthor in the reboot...
Right now I don't think they are going with Lex in this, maybe for the next film. But I really hope they add Darkseid in a future one. But you know a Darkseid story could lead to a Justice League movie, and I really want to see that happen. Will we see a movie cross over like with the Marvel ones? One can only hope, but I don't see it happening.
I would rather have seen Doomsday or Bizzaro. More than likely I will wait for this movie to hit DVD and rent it, like I am going to do with X-men first class.
I'm really excited for this new movie if for no other reason than its an opportunity for WB to get it right... FINALLY. I have been a huge Superman fan all my life, but the live action movies have not been satisfying (even the Donner cut of Superman II). Ultimately though, I'm not sure how optimistic I am that it will be what the character diserves, but I am looking forward to it none the less because I'll take all the Superman I can get. (I have been a long suffering viewer of Smallville, and its saddens me that that's all I really have atm.)
I've been disappointed before, so I am guarded in my expectations. I'll see it with my friends (it's like we have "battered fan syndrome", we just keep coming back for more...), and hope for the best.
-El yes I'm excited. I have all the other Superman movies (including the Donner cut of II), so I'm looking forward to adding this one to my collection to.
I'm a fan of Superman. Growing up in the 80s, I loved the Superman movies and watched the old George Reeves Superman on Nick At Night. I even liked the campy, though fun, Lois & Clark. Never got into Smallville, though.
The thing about Superman is that he's overpowered. It's tough to make a Superman story because he's so strong, fast, and invincible. Inevitable, Lex Luther or some other villain gets some Krytonite and yada yada yada. I'd love to see a Superman movie, other than a character introduction movie, that sees Superman go through a moral crisis. Bring the Man out of Superman, so to speak.
It would be hard to do right, without it turning into a soap opera or something, but I'd like to see Superman accidentally kill and innocent bystander, or just fail to save someone, and have a bit of a moral dilemma about if being Superman is right. Like I said, it would be tough to do just right, but I'd like to see them try to get away from the "I am SUPERMAN! OH NOES! KRYPTONITE!" that seems to happen in every movie.
As far as the cast goes, it looks pretty good so far. It's tough to picture the new guy as Superman, but I had the same trouble for Brandon Routh, yet, I think he did a fine job. In fact, Routh was one of the only decent things about the movie, in my opinion. I think most of the negativity towards him comes from a poor script and a generally slow moving movie. It was frankly boring and he and Kate Bosworth didn't have any chemistry together.
Speaking of Lois Lane, I like Amy Adams in the part. I've seen her in a few things and she's a good actress. It all comes down to how they write the part and just how well she and Henry Cavill work together, which you can't really say until you see it on screen. Just from seeing a cast listing, though, I'd say it has as good of chance as working out as any pairing.
The Superman movies never really were I was interested in, but I have seen them.
With Christopher Nolan involved in the movie who knows, it may be something worth watching more than once.
As an Executive Producer, I'm pretty sure Nolan will not be all that "involved" in the actual production. Executive Producers rarely are.
I'm looking forward to it at the moment, but whether or not I actually bother spending money on it depends on where they go with it. I'll wait for the first trailer before I make a decision one way or the other.
I'd be interested in a Doomsday death of Superman done well. Do it right, do it dirty...then move on into the war of the Supermen, Hal Jordan's meltdown, rebirth of the Core and right into the Blackest Night story....muahahahaha.

And no...IT wasn't due to the pathetic Superman Returns...Actually Superman IV is what killed my interest in Supes. Gawd that movie was horrible.
Then again...Supergirl didn't help either...
but it does all seems a bit done before.
with superman, either lex is planning something, or some evil super powered version of superman is tearing the place up.

Agreed. Actually, most of the superheros are a bit bland. Especially after I found anime.
