Worked maintenance most of his life. Retired this year, because the loony bin he worked for was grating on his last nerve. (Yes...an actual mental hospital...worked the maintenance department there.)
I don't know who my father was, but the guy I call my dad drives a school bus, was a bouncer, and well the kids on his bus would be shocked to find that he was a chapter founder of an one percent motorcycle club. Let me just say you should not upset your bus driver, you never know what mayhem they get into when they are not at their day job.
Retired from his civilian job, now a full time Platoon leader and one of thoose guys even the Majors go to when they need answers to somthing.
Edit: Being a Seargent and Squad leader myself, I tend to be a little proud of my old man.
When you are known for being a reliable NCO...it's common for Officers to give you more respect.
I'll never forget the HT Master Chief (E-9) that had the respect of every officer on the Hawk....I remember brand new Ensign tried to get onto him for not saluting...Master Chief gave him a dirty look and proceeded to explain to the Ensign that he'd been in the Navy long before the best parts of him were left as a stain on his daddy's sheets....and it got even more vulgar from there...The Ensign ran away, and I swear he was crying.
he's kind of like the A-team, he can build and do just about anything, ...although he's not a soldier of fortune or framed for a crime he did not commit. or drives a black ....you know what he's nothing like the A-team, he's more like MacGyver.
Hmm after he was a bouncer but before he was a bus driving hell raiser the man I call my dad served in both the Army and the Navy as a diesel pool mechanic. He's is a plank owner of the DE(FF)-1052 Knox.
Actually, I've got a pretty interesting father. He was at one point the president of Chiquita Bananas. He was a consultant for Booz Allen for a number of years. Until recently, he owned a janitorial business that operated in 26 states, until it was bought by a smaller company out of Macon, GA. In fact, listing all of the interesting things he's done would probably exceed the character limit for these posts.
My father was a scientist, prior to his retirement a few years ago. Not an interesting scientist, mind you. He never made a single monster or death ray. It was something to do with soils and wetlands and conservation of the environment.

So he was a good scientist? Did he ever have to do battle with an evil scientist?

There was this one time when he proclaimed that a particular area was a wetland, and then some company that wanted to develop that land brought in a "scientist" of their own to say it wasn't. I think that was the closest thing to a battle you could find. But again, there were no man-made mutants or giant robots invented to enter the battle.
My dad, who is never wrong, won the battle, of course.

My Pa's an auto-mechanic of 20+ years and my Ma's branch manager of one of the local banks.
Who's your daddy?
Is he rich like me?
