Possible video card overheating issues with blooming

I'm not sure if anyone has experienced this before. I can see in other threads that there has been overheating issues on video cards, especially ATI cards. For me, I did not have any problems until I played one particular mission on the foundry called the "Flight of the Kitty Hawk". A great mission, but my video card always makes a beeping sound and my screen starts to flicker during the part in the mission when you are in the nebula with lots of blooming. I had to try it several times, and it always happens during this scene in the nebula. All the other parts are fine.

Did anyone else encounter this in nebulas with lots of blooming?

Are you running the Catalyst 11.3's for starters? System specs would be nice also. I am going to go play that mission now to see if I experience the same issues you do. Before I do though. GPU's run very warm in the first place. Adequate case cooling to help push hot air out of your case is essential if you are going to run any sort of gaming GPU. Stock GPU coolers usually suck! Clean out your case regularly. Dust and TRIBBLE clog up fans and reduce their ability to cool and in some cases, can even cause a fire.

I played through the entire mission without any issues. The fan on my 5850 1GB didn't even reach 50% speed. The excessive bloom effects in this mission definitely are annoying in my opinion though. You can lower the bloom intensity in your video options with not much of a difference in graphics quality.
