c-store item grand idea

This proposal is for many benefits of the community:

a "gamble" option in the c-store: 10 atari tokens per "spin" gives a random mk xi or xii uncommon- very rare quality item. the c store revenues would accelerate development and the availability would be AWESOME for high level gear and exchange opportunities as well as gearing and finishing out final ship designs. post what you think I believe this would be radically beneficial all thew way around.

Isn't online gambling illegal in most places?

not really gambling, you are purchasing a roll, like a blind auction, easy

it still using cash for gambling, and most countries you would have to be 18 plus to gamble..... and this game is classified as PG13, Also to many laws for Cryptic to look up to see if it was even legal in most countries.

I was thinking similar to the rewards for "aid the planet" purchasing those boxes directly, it shouldnt be too hard to work it out

Sounds like this would fall closer to woot.com's bag-o-TRIBBLE. A few sites do something similar, but the idea is you're not gambling, you're purchasing an unknown. In the bag-o-TRIBBLE case, you're buying a bag of unsold inventory. I've heard of people getting everything from underwear to digital cameras. The only one I ever managed to get before it sold out arrived with 1000 number 2 pencils.

    Better C-Store Idea: Hats.

I'm talking helmets (combat, police, security, and pith), berets, garrison caps, ball caps, bowlers, fedoras, top hats, cowboy hats, turbans, touks, peak caps, commissar caps, and of course the Ultimate Hat.

I'm inclined to agree with the Empress. Also... I'd definitely like to have this hat with accessories.

Because when you see a man walk around in a hat like that, you know he is not afraid of anything!

He robbed from the rich and he gave to the poor
Stood up to the man and he gave him what-for
Our love for him now ain't hard to explain
The Hero of Canton, the man they call Jayne

    I prefer Ravenstein's idea.

Though I do like your idea of a 'random' drop.

I'd prefer if something like what the OP suggested was done, it be done with in-game currency, like Emblems/Marks/Latinum, etc. Using real money (or Tokens purchased with real money) gets into a weird gray area that does sound too much like gambling to me.

When I am doing the space cluster missions, I save up the Aid the Planet rewards until I have 5-10 and then open them all at once. It's still mostly junk (I've gotten blues and purples though) that I sell on the exchange/to a merchant but it still makes it more fun.
